So... Yeet-
Lmao XD
My Mum owned this old Huawei GR5... My little {annoying} brother was very harsh with it and broke the charging port in the phone. He unplugged the charger aggressively.
The chip thing in the port bent.
It stopped charging and we couldn't plug the charging cable in.
It's been resting there, getting its battery drained, dead.
One day, I asked my Mum if she still uses that phone. She said, "uh... I don't really use it anymore, mostly you and your brother use it,"
So i asked her, "is there any chance... That maybe... You can give it to me as a hand-me-down once it gets fixed?"
She replied, "well... Yes, you can, possibly,"
I was happy!
Because I really needed a new phone that is in good condition...
My dad called and the fam talked,
Then my Mum told him the phone, and my, case.
He said, "well, I'll think about that first,"
Then I told him, "I really really need a new phone, dad. My iPhone 4 overheats all the time for no reason. Plus, it's really old!"
I could tell that he was considering it,
He said, "But no sim card-"
I cut him off, "I promise you! I will never ever ever ever in forever have a sim card! Only in my smartwatch for emergencies,"
He thought it over, "I will think about it,"
"Yay....!" I silently cheered,
A few days later, I started looking into the charging port and was looking for what was wrong, compared it to another phone's charging port, and found the problem.
Two days after that, I was itching to try and fix it.
So I did.
I used a toothpick to clean the inside, a pin to lift the chip thing back in place, and a charger compatible with the port.
After I did my attempt, i plugged the charger and the phone in.
It charged.
I fixed it.
I FLIPPING fixed it!
I was so happy!
I told my Mum and she was super thankful.
I was so nervous while doing it!
My Mum said that once the phone's memory is cleared, or I get a new memory card, and my parents say I can have it, I can use it.
But my little brother is LITERALLY beating me to it. I shut the phone down and set it on my desk, and he tried to take it so he could play with it.
I was like, "no! Let it rest! It just revived! Leave it alone!"
He just ignored me and took the phone. I took it back and put it back.
He yelled at me saying "I WONT DRAIN THE BATTERY!!!"
But my Mum saved my and the phone's butt by saying, "stop! You can't use the phone now! Listen to what your older sibling says!"
After a while she took the phone and hid it somewhere. I was glad.
