Chapter 2:
Kristisn's POV:
My eyes widen. "Kris!" He says, pulling me into a hug. I stiffly stand still. "Um...." I say, not sure what to say to him. He smiles that same old crooked smile he always smiled.
That's what brought back all those memories. Playing at the park. Sitting in trees. Helping each other with homework. Him asking me out, me denying because he was going to leave. Regretting it. Crying when he said he was leaving everyone. And now, finding him here.
"H-h-harry," I say, faking a smile. "I didn't know you were coming home." Harry smiled even wider. "I wanted to surprise you." He puts an arm around my shoulder. I tense, and Harry notices. "Kris, are you okay?" he asks.
I nod. "It's just been a while...." I say quietly. He hugs me. "I know it has." Harry looks behind me. The moment he sees Zach and Sharmin, he looks at me sadly. "I'm sorry for leaving you. Is there any way I could make it up to you?"
I look up into those piercing green eyes. I nod. "Walk with me?" I heard Zach and Sharmin sigh and walk away. I feel tears coming in. I had always been too sensitive. Harry frowns.
"I never did like them..." he murmurs. He leads me away and we start walking away, in the right direction, back to the kind of friends we used to be.
