La Verna Mountain Peek & Resort
I welcomed myself on my second day here in this cold and beautiful place—5-hour drive away from the city. This was unplanned naisipan ko lang na mag-long drive patungo dito. Well, after my last itinerary here seseryosohin ko na ang offer nina papa Hernando at mama Anabelle in managing our farm business.
Kinuha ko ang bag ko at saka isinukbit sa likuran ko. We had to walk for about two hours to reach this cliff and started climbing. Nagdala din ang lahat ng mga tent dahil dun kami magpapalipas ng gabi sa tuktok ng La Verna Rock Hills.
"Mag-iingat ang lahat, okay? Call the attention of the our troop leader kung may problema.." Ani ng tour guide and everybody agreed and getting more excited. I had been to different places—well, with Giovanni pero isa ito sa mga bucket lists na gustong-gusto kong puntahan pero hindi naman niya trip kasi hindi siya mahilig sa mga heights.
Hindi niya nga ba trip o dahil nagkasakit noon si Arya at hindi makakasama?
We started trailing this uphill road. I badly needed this strenuous activity for myself—hindi ko kasi inakalang makakapunta naman pala ako dito nang mag-isa. Each step I took today—ipinapangako kong kakayanin kong mag-isa..
Sa kalahating oras na pag-akyat ko papunta sa tuktok—baon ko ang sama ng loob ko sa kanilang dal'wa. When I got on top—these should be gone! Everything's anew—I wanna be free of this pain..
"You can do it, Miss Devyn!" Everyone was cheering for me dahil ako ang panghuli sa lahat—hindi naman ito karera, e.. I was glad na kahit hindi ko kilala ang mga kasamahan ko ngayon—they were boosting my spirit to continue climbing the top.
Until I reached the hand of our troop leader and everybody clapped saka ako naupo sa—catching my breath and..smiling..
"I..I did it.." Mixed emotions, yes. Naiiyak ako na natatawa—hindi ko aakalaing maakyat ko itong mag-isa..
"You did a great job, Miss Devyn." Tumango ako sa sinabi ng leader namin ngayon. Saka ko niyakap ang mga tuhod ko sabay tanaw sa malawak na karagatan at luntiang bundok..
"I did it, Gio.." Pumatak ang luha ko—but hell, I was smiling like stupid. Nakakuyom ang mga kamao ko—sobrang bigat sa loob, e.. Pero alam ko—this time—I needed to let all these pain to let go..
Tumayo ako. I raised my hands and shot a video using my body camera. "Malaya na ako!!!!" Sabay sigaw ng malakas—sobrang lakas. Wala akong pakialam sa mga kasamahan ko ngayon kung matatawa sila o ano.. "Giovanni, you are now free to love somebody else!!!" I wiped my tears off my face. "You're free to love her even if she's my bestfriend!!!" My message echoed everywhere. I put my hands down and turned around to see everybody was looking at me—quiet at first and later jumped in happiness.
"Yes, she's free!" Most of them were foreigners and I was genuinely smiling now hearing how they cheered those words for me. Sobrang gaan na ng pakiramdam ko ngayon.. I breathed in and out saka ako naglakad sa tent area namin. I got my phone and started filming again—I'll let my parents see these amazing shots..
I was sure, they'd feel so proud of me.
I putted up my small tent enough for myself and then everyone gathered in circle where there was this bone fire at the center para magsalo-salo sa dinner. We were like in camping scout—I remembered my elementary and highschool days dahil sobrang active ako sa camping.
That night, I felt so peaceful. Nakatulog ako ng sobrang himbing sa pagod siguro but more like—because I let my heart be at peace.. I even turned off my phone dahil ayoko ng esturbo sa bakasyon ko ngayon.

"Hi, mama, papa! Last day ko sa Le Verna at pipitas ako ng mga blue berries para sa inyo.. Look, there they are—looks scrumptious.." I was holding my body camera and shot a video while picking these blue berries sa farm ng La Verna—actually, almost all kinds of berries ay nagawa nilang e-cultivate sa bundok dahil sa malamig na klima ng lugar.
"Yum.." I took a bite of those and tasted so mouthful! Ang tamis! Ilang sandali nalang at bababa na kami ng bundok—and lastly, packed my things para umuwi na. Hindi naman masyadong marami ang dinala ko—kasi nga, unexpexted road trip ko ito.
Yet turned out to be so fun.
Stressed-free trip I ever had!
"Balik kayo uli! Ingat.." Ani ng caretaker ng resort saka ko tinungo ang kotse ko na nakaparada sa 'di malayo. But I halted my feet.
"So I thought you'd came here—I was late, wasn't I?" Gio was standing behind me. Ngayon pa talaga? At kung paanong nalaman niya kung saan ako ngayon—wow, that was an excellent guessing!
Nilagpasan ko lang siya saka tinungo na ang kotse ko sa malalaking hakbang. "Devyn, p-please.. Talk to me.. Tatanggapin ko lahat ng mga masasakit mong salita—sampalin mo ako—please, just talk to me.." He held my arm just before I opened my car's door.
"I already said everything to you, Gio—"
"Hands off. She's mine." That voice! L-Lorenzo? Malalaking hakbang ang ginawa nito para malakas na itinabig ang nakahawak na kamay ni Giovanni sa braso ko—mariin nitong tiningnan ng masama si Giovanni.
A-Anong..s-she's mine? Sumikdo ang puso ko.
