"Excuse me?" Playing stupid seemed the best idea to Caspian. "You. I saw you. I was in the forest, in this ruin and I saw through the telescope-" "You stand with a telescope in the forest and peep on people? That's really strange," said Caspian, shrugging, "I was just going for a walk."
The sinister man took a deep breath, exhaled and took a step forward. "You fucking fell from the sky. I saw you crashing. But you just got up and walked away," hissed the ghost hunter idiot. How much bad luck could you have? Two people had spotted him and one of them was a fanatic freak. Wonderful. It was as if Michael had known about it and let him fell there just to cause him more problems. Incredible.
"Okay, listen to me. I'm in a semi-good mood today, so how about you just give my buddy the interview here and then piss off?" Louis cleared his throat. "He didn't mean it that way." "Oh, I totally did." Louis gave him an exhausted look. "Let's go to the living room ..." The ghost hunter was still staring at Caspian with narrowed eyes and did not stop until they went around the corner.

Louis wanted to start the day all over again. Then he would not have invited this ghost guy and certainly would not have pestered Caspian. Good God his back was ... "... and with this Geiger-Mueller counter I measured those radiation fluctuations that I just mentioned. So I'm pretty sure that this little girl died in this house who was born in 1976-""Sorry, I didn't quite understand the beginning. What was this about infrasound monitoring equipment?" Louis blinked and the man sighed theatrically.
His name was Madoc and he did not appear to be very bright. In other words - he had a lot of knowledge about ghosts and stuff, but was a little socially awkward. "You don't really listen to me Mr. Roth. I've already talked about the special noise levels." Louis changed his seating position and tapped the notepad with his ballpoint pen. "Of course I'm listening to you, it's just-"
"How the hell did you get this ... this creature in your house? You have to get rid of it, very quickly. I can help you there." Louis raised his eyebrows and had an urgent need to defend Caspian. "I don't want to get rid of him. And he's not a creature either, dear Mr. Madoc." The self-proclaimed ghost hunter leaned forward and looked serious. "I don't know if exorcism would help, but you should definitely have the bad aura removed from your apartment. To destroy the creature ... well, I think we'd be fine with fire."
Louis snapped his pen and stood up. "Okay. I'll think about it. We're done here." Madoc frowned. "But I haven't told you about the legend that happened in the villa -" "We're done here. Thanks for the interview." Louis knew he was unprofessional and maybe it would have been a good article, well, at least something else that the readers could have had fun with, but he did not want to listen to it any longer.
Louis eyed Madoc with a cold look, who glared back at him and then jumped up. "Fine. Remember my words: It is not what you think it is. It will only bring you misfortune. It is not human!" "Have a nice day, Mr. Madoc." Madoc stormed out of the room and swore. Louis took a deep breath and ran his hand through his hair. Then he dropped back onto the sofa. It was quiet. Not even Minnie joined him. He threw the notepad next to him.
The freak had spoken the truth somewhere. Caspian was ... different. He was almost a stranger and he did not tell anything about himself. However, he was also hurt. Not just on the outside. Caspian ... had problems. Louis cursed his helper syndrome.

Two rooms further, Caspian forced himself again to look at his shameful, tattered wings. They just did not heal. He pressed his lips together and tried to wash off the blood, but it was not that easy. He did not really reach the spots. Caspian took a shaky breath and let his arms drop. How could he have sunk so low? It was pointless.
