Louis was not sure what it was, but for some reason Caspian was a lot quieter than usual. Not that Caspian was usually very talkative, but at least he would brought a grumpy or sarcastic saying every now and then. However, since Rem had gone home, Louis could not blame him, after Caspian had stabbed him with looks, he was quiet.
He even patted Minnie thoughtfully. And Minnie put up with it. Here was something in the bush. "Caspian?"
"Mhm?"
"Are you ... uh ... okay?" Caspian raised an eyebrow. "You learned within a few days that there are heaven, angels and demons, one of whom is your buddy. Don't know, are you okay?" "Don't know," echoed Louis, shrugging his shoulders. "You're damn crazy Louis." Louis giggled and could only agree.
"What are you going to do next, Caspian?" Caspian scratched Minnie behind the ears, which nestled against his leg and purred. "I am well again that I can hunt smaller demons. Nevertheless, I no longer have my holy sword ... that means I need a weapon. The last fight, I lost miserably and could hardly resist. It was embarrassing. " "And you looked like a traffic accident."
"Of course I don't want to do that to you again." Caspian cleared his throat and added, "That means I have to get a weapon first."
"A weapon? I honestly don't think there are holy swords around here, Caspian." Louis frowned, got up and straightened the lamp that had fallen over in the hallway-boxing match. "Oh really? I'm shocked. At home, we keep getting swords as souvenirs." Louis smiled. There were his comments again. Thank God.
He turned back to Caspian, who also had gotten up. "I will go to the Berlin Cathedral and see what I find there." Louis waited for Caspian to start laughing. He did not. "Excuse me?" Caspian had already walked past him and straightened his collar. "I'm going to the cathedral. And see what I can find," he repeated more slowly and was already at the door.
"Wait wait wait. You can't just break into a church and ... and steal things!" Caspian cocked his head. "Watch me."
Louis considered punching Caspian. But he was probably three times stronger than Louis, although Caspian was not yet in top shape."I am an angel; the church must be at my service. In addition, if I remember correctly, Frederick the first is buried there, this King of Prussia. He certainly still has his sword in the grave or something." He waved his hand and Louis dropped his jaw.
"You don't just want to break into a cathedral, but also open and rob an approximately 300-year-old grave?" Caspian opened the door. "The way you say it, it sounds like a crime."
-
Caspian had not expected Louis to follow him. What had happened to the over-correct journalist? Caspian had screwed him up.
However, Louis did not look as if he wanted to be there. It was the first time that Caspian was outdoors again, even in broad daylight. Of course, he had been in the human world before, but mostly with a mission. He had never really been among the people and had ... talked to them.
He felt like a tourist. Awful.
The blonde-haired woman with the fake smile handed him a flyer and blinked at him. "Have a wonderful day!" Caspian just frowned while Louis thanked her and put a few coins in the donation box. "Why do they guard the entrance? Shouldn't everyone be allowed to come to pray? Why do you have to pay for it at all? That's a shame."
Louis looked up at him and pocketed his own flyer. "Because the cathedral congregation cannot finance everything from church tax." He said nothing more, just watched the other tourists stroll through the church and look at the elaborate decorations and architecture. The huge dome was impressive. At least for an earthly building.
A small child ran past Caspian laughing and his mother ran after him cursing. A few yards away, Caspian watched a young woman lolling in front of the closed altar. A man took photos with these little devices. Louis sighed. "Photos are actually not allowed. Probably an employee will come and pester them both."
Caspian was genuinely upset. And angry. "How dare they act like this?" He growled, staring at the young couple. Louis blinked in surprise. "Well, they're probably here on vacation and want a ...keepsake?" "She looks like a whore and takes pictures of God's house. These people are all totally disrespectful." Louis gasped, but Caspian ignored him, he stalked over to the people.
He had to take a deep breath to avoid being loud and even managed to smile. "Sorry ..." "Honey, show me how the pictures turned out." "You look fantastic, Emilia." The two put their heads together and completely ignored him. Caspian cleared his throat and tried again, but Louis interrupted him, before he could say something.
"Caspian, come on. We don't want to get any attention, do we?" Caspian gritted his teeth and let Louis pull him away. "This is the entrance to the crypt," he said, and would have loved to turn around, as he saw notes, barrier tapes and tourists everywhere. "The Hohenzollern Crypt is pretty well known," said Louis, looking around. "However, I don't know how you want to steal anything here. Probably only the coffins are even exhibited."
Caspian simmered. He really had to pull himself together so he would not grab one of those stupid guys with socks and sandals and break their spine. No wonder God has been so bitter and withdrawn in recent years. This was a laughing stock. Caspian did not care much about rules and was respectful to only a few people, but this ... it made him furious.
-
Louis hurried after Caspian, who suddenly burst out of the crypt, with great strides, and left the cathedral again. "I already have such a crappy flyer! And stop grinning so broad, it looks terribly stupid!" He heard Caspian say.
When he walked past the blonde receptionist, he apologized briefly. The poor woman looked like she was about to cry. Considering that Caspian had wanted to open a tomb an hour ago, his tantrum was rather incomprehensible.
On the other hand, during the time he was in Dom, he had been careful to keep his voice down and had looked at the murals in awe. In front of the cathedral, however, he lost control. "This can't be serious! It's okay that you have all these new technologies and all that shit, but can't you at least leave the houses of worship alone? Or, if that doesn't work, at least show God the necessary respect? I can't believe it! No wonder the Virtues Angels get more and more depressed when they receive prayers from such places!"
Louis tried to appease him, but he was already gone and seemed to be snapping at another couple of tourists hanging out on the stairs. All of this came to Louis like a homage to the story of Jesus, who drove traders and moneychangers out of the Jerusalem temple and preached that the temple should be reserved for worship as a "house of prayer".
Only that Caspian angered tourists instead of the temple aristocracy.
He rushed over to the argument. "What's your problem man?" Asked the man with sunglasses and a beard and folded his arms. "You are all a disgrace to God," Caspian spat. The woman clung to the arm of man. "Oh no, one of those fanatics!" Caspian gasped. "You dare-"
Louis intervened and smiled gently. "My friend had a bad day here. Please don't take that as an offense." "The guy may be lucky that no one has called the police yet," the guy with sunglasses growled and Louis nodded, "Yes, we'll go now. Thanks for your understanding."
He pulled Caspian away and murmured insistently: "I don't call that inconspicuous." Caspian gave him an angry look. "Fuck this." He looked aside and snorted. "I definitely can't get any help here. People are terrible."
Louis put a hand on his shoulder and sighed. "Let's go have a meal first, Caspian. Then we'll think about it."
When Louis and Caspian left the crime scene, they did not know someone watched them. But they would soon feel the impact.
