Ren wakes up to hear his phone start buzzing. He looks at his digital clock, 3 am. He grabs his phone and puts it to his ear.

     "Yeah?" He began.

"You might want to come to the station, there has been some players that managed to log off of SAO." It was Major Akitaru

"Wait—what—shit!" Ren rushes off his bed only to trip on his sheets, "Someone actually try logging off."

"We're tracking the player down no exact sign of who it is."

Ren puts on some pants and a shirt and starts his car. He floors it to the station and sees everyone huddled on the monitor.

"Well, it turns out the players who logged off were the same people who started this debacle. Their player IDs are Jigoku and Deathgun. We could only managed to find Jigoku's personal info, Kaito Haku, 16 years old and lived right around here.

"Major," Kitagawa called from across the room, "Someone managed to open the log in window from the inside."

Everyone started chattering. Ren studies the profile of Jigoku and remembers that Asada Raito's alibi was Haku, he was a part of the same of family perhaps, and most likely went to the same school with address being nearest to it.

"Major," another police officer chokes, "We gotta dispatch for that address as well?"

He nodded and a group of officers ran out the door. Ren locks the door behind and

Ren pipes up, "Major, can I talk to you about something?"

Him and Ren go to his desk and look at each other ominously. He could not explain exactly what was happening or what he found out. But it was better to say something now than later.

"I know who Asada Raito is. I found out where she is now."

The Major winces at the detective and sighs. He fiddled his fingers around and clicked his tongue.

"Asada Raito's name was changed to Kazuko Haku, they have the same birthdate. And according to the UN report she was recorded to have that player name—Raito. I have a photocopy of it."

Ren shows Akitaru the report with a picture of the student.

"Well, Kirigaya Asuna did say Kazuko looks at lot like Shino, they have the same age. Hang on, isn't Asuna..."

"As we speak, she's being escorted to the Death Valley research center to dive in. Homeland security will keep a good eye on her while she dives in. She'll stay in there until the game is completely beaten. So who knows how long."

Ren looked down to the floor, he could remember perfectly his time in SAO. He was a shut-in, after he was accused of a crime, his parents didn't want him outside, he stayed in, behind a computer screen. Or inside MMOs. When he got his hands on a rare copy of Sword Art Online, he booted it up and immediately got hooked into the experience.

As the sky turned to blood and a red hooded figure shadows them, they realized they were trapped, he panicked at first but then realized all of it was true. Everyday, he checked his menu to see a log out setting, none, he tried shouting out loud to see if voice log outs were possible, nothing.

At first he picked to wield the dagger in game but after joining a guild called the Knights of Blood, he met a skilled female fencer who later became the vice commander of their guild. He joined her mob farming party and they were practically on the same levels with each other and even same age.
