My feet dug into the hot ground beneath me that burned the edges of my bare tummy., maybe I shouldn't have worn a goddamn crop top today and a pair of shorts because damn do my legs and tummy hurt like a bitch.

My dad sent me a worried glance, the concern in his eyes evident as he stared at everyone in the group who were huddled under cars.

Shane and Glenn were infront of us under a large truck, My mum and Carol were behind us underneath a car, Sophia and Carl were across from us and we were in the middle.

I assume Dale is ontop of the RV, lucky bastard. He'll be the last to be bit or attacked. The only people that I can't see is T-Dog, Daryl or Andrea and that didn't calm my nerves one bit.

I watched as a woman limped by me, her foot hanging by a thread from her rotting leg as she limped by the car, letting out small growls and groans.

My breath hitched but I tried my best to keep it down. My dad's secure arm around my waist was definitely calming me down.

After a few minutes, the walkers seemed to have passed. I let out a small breath of relief and blew the brown hair that fell down out of my face before looking down at my mum with relief, she sent me a small smile.

A small scream was what knocked me out of my thoughts as my head snapped up to see Sophia crawling out from underneath a car, two walkers limping after her "Kara!" She squealed out before making her way down the grassy hill.

My dad nodded for me signalling that we go after her, I gritted my teeth in anger at the walkers before gripping my gun and rolling out from under the car.

I ran straight towards where she had gone, my dad ahead of me as we ran down the hill and into the forest, I held my gun but realised that if I shot it, it would let out a loud noise.

"My machete" I thought as I reached down to grab it only to feel that it wasn't there anymore, it must've fell out under the car, shit.

I looked to my left to see those two things limping after Sophia who was running with a doll in her hand, my dad eventually caught her "Are you alright? Are you okay?" He asked, Sophia gripping to his shoulder as her face resembled panic.

She looked up at me and tried grabbing my gun from my hand "Kara! Shoot them!" She pleaded, looking up at me with scared eyes. I pulled my gun away and crouched down to her eyesight "I can't sweetheart, It'll attract all of those walkers in the woods".

My dad eventually came up with a plan to draw the walkers off, we jamp into a nearby pond and he placed her in a tight space between the grass and water "Squeeze in tight, run back to the highway if we don't make it back. Keep the sun on your left shoulder" My dad told her and she nodded.

I didn't like the idea of leaving her but its the only thing we can do right now, I bent down and placed my hands on either side of her face, tucking a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear "You'll be alright, honey. I'll come back" I assured with a small smile.

She smiled nervously back and nodded putting all of her trust on me, I brought her in for a quick hug before stepping away with my dad "Come on, you ugly son of a bitch!" My dad shouts in disgust, splashing the water in their direction, they began limping towards us.

"Come on!" I shouted to the walkers, I sent a small nod to Sophia before running with my dad but making sure that the walkers know where we are.

We made it to some trees and hid behind them, my dad had a rock in his hand and I had a stick, when the walker got close enough, I spun around and shoved the stick between its eyes.

It fell back to the ground and I continued shoving the stick into its skull, blood splattering my hands and face.

We ran back to where Sophia was quickly only to see that she wasn't there, my eyes widened and began looking around frantically "Shit" My dad said, pinching the bridge of his nose out of stress.

"Fuck, where is she?!" I cried in frustration, he sighed "M-Maybe she's made her way back to highway, come on" My dad suggests but it seems like he's just trying to assure himself.

She better be back there.
