Adeline
No matter where I went, Luna came along with me. We were a package deal, a duo if you will. She loved coming into the office with me and taking naps on the corner of my office. I had bought her a very nice bed to have her. Does she use it? No. She lays on the carpet floor and squished her on the corner but she's the cutest. Luckily my assistant didn't mind having her around or watching over her while I had meetings or such. She didn't have to but I appreciated it and gave her extra lunch minutes and pay. "Let's go see what Matteo has to say." I look over at her wagging her tail ready to leave. I clasp her dusty rose leash and walk out of the office with her, leaving the building. I really should've changed my heels out for flat shoes when I left but it was too late and I felt more powerful against Matteo. I was only 5'5 and with these heels I would at least be 5'8-9 against his 6'2 self.
I walked inside the offices of Rammstein & Schwartz Legal being greeted by the doorman and walked myself over to the front desk, "I have a meeting with Matteo." I paused before correcting myself, "I mean Mr. DeMarco."
The tall leggy blonde looked at me and nodded, "Name?"
"Adeline. He said to meet him in his office." I replied.
She lifted her phone and called him asking him. "He is ready to meet with you, His office is on the 13th floor. You're going to make a left and it will be the one with his name plaque on it."
"Thank you." I replied before pushing the elevator and she could say anything abojt Luna coming along with me. I wasn't in the brightest of moods after a long day of work, being in heels and a fitted dress, carrying my work bag and purse and dog but whatever.
I knocked on his door before coming in to see him in his suit looking composed on his desk. God damnit. Why wasn't he ugly? Proof that there is no justice in the world sometimes.
"I brought Luna. I hope that's not an issue. She comes with me to work." I stated.
"She really is your new companion. I don't mind. As long as she doesn't take a shit on my carpet." He chuckles but I glare at him defending that Luna is in fact a lady.
"Take a seat. Did you walk here?" He asks
"I did." I nod, taking a seat and putting my things down.
"I would've arranged to have a car pick you up." He explains but I wave him off.
"It wasn't a far walk but traffic is a nightmare at this time anyways." I look at him, "Are you going to tell me the truth?"
He looks at him as his gaze hardens but nods, "Not here. Let's go to my apartment and I will explain calmly."
"You has me meet you here when- " he stops me and shakes his head.
"I'll drive us and I will take you back home. I promise."
"Okay." I nod in defeat.
I hold Luna on my lap as Matteo drives us to his place kind of wishing I had eaten dinner before I came over. Although it seemed like he read my mind because he looks over at me and asks, "Have you eaten? I can have take out for us."
"Sushi." I nod, "Unless you want something else."
"I like sushi." He hands over his phone, "Order it. My card is on the account."
"I can pay for it." I fought back mumbling.
"I know you can but I want to pay for dinner. I invited you, So let me just pay." He kept driving.
"Fine. What do you want?" I looked over, scrolling on the app ordering what I want.
"Just a tuna roll and salmon roll." He answered back.
