On one side the basement was decorated nicely, the walls had beautiful wall patterns painted on them. There was an entire wardrobe of clothing placed to the side. On the other side there was a girl who looked like she was tired and at her end. "Giselle, today is the day my love." Alice began "You are gonna become the gracious woman you were always meant to be." Ellie looked over at the girl who was bound to the wall, she had a ball of cloth in her mouth keeping her from making any noise. Ellie just stared in horror."Please...." Giselle began to beg. "Please just let me go." "I don't know how many times I have to tell you, young one but you have to get it through your head tonight. They are coming to get you tonight. I've been patient and pushed back as much as I could but this is happening." Alice finished. Alice went over to the cabinet and took out some bread, she handed it over to the girl and let her eat it. "Alice must have been starving the poor girl" Ellie thought to herself. Ellie stood in the corner as she watched the girl slowly pass out. Alice began to pull Giselle's clothing off of her body. She went over to the sink and grabbed a razor and a small bowl of water. Ellie had already been crying but the tears poured more and more.
Alice began to shave all of the hair off of Gisele's body, starting with the legs and working her way up. "I can tell that you have questions as to why I have her in the basement." Alice spoke not breaking her concentration off of task. "I just want to do good work and deliver good girls to good homes." she finished. Ellie remained quiet for a moment before sound came from her lips, "Where is she going?" Ellie asked. "I can't really say but I can tell you that if you keep behaving the way you are there are gonna be consequences." Alice spoke. "I'll tell." Ellie rebutted. "Tell what? You are a known liar, Eloise, darling. Even your own sister is beginning to see what trouble you are bringing. Sit over there in that chair." she pointed over at the corner with the razor.
Ellie sat quietly in the chair and watched as Alice finished shaving the body hair off of Giselle. "Where are her parents?" Ellie asked. Alice was positioning Giselle in a slouching position. "Same as yours, or God knows." Alice scoffed. She had begun to paint Giselle's nails a white color. "I don't want to be here." Ellie stuttered. "I can have that arranged if you want. I can make it to where you are sent back to a group home, but Cassidy will not be going with you." Alice's voice had no character in it whatsoever. Ellie thought to herself that she couldn't leave Cassidy with these people. "I mean I don't want to be in the basement. They creep me out." Ellie was trying every opportunity to get out of the basement with Alice.
Alice looked back, "Fine go. But remember your sister is always counting on you." Ellie ran up the stairs into the main house. She ran to the front door but found it to be locked, she went up to her room and placed the lock on the door and cried into her pillow. She missed her mother so very much more. Ellie cried for hours wanting to know why?
I sat in the room holding my baby sister waiting for mommy to wake up. She was just laying there in her bed with her scarf wrapped around her head. "Ellie..." someone called. It was mommy calling my name. She didn't look like her usual self, her skin was all pale, her lips dry/cracked, and all of her pretty hair was gone too. "Yes mommy." I asked. "Promise me something." she began. "Promise me that you will be a big girl and take care of Cassidy." she managed to get out. "I... " I tried to speak but was interrupted by the loud beep that went off. Mommy had let go of my hand "Mommy.... MOMMY.." I cried. A bunch of nurses and doctors came into her room and pushed me out of the way. The doctors pulled me and Cassidy out of the room so that they could wake mommy up. I sat on the floor with Cassidy in my lap. We sat there for a long time before anybody came near us. A woman came up to me and tried to talk to me. I wouldn't say anything to her. "Your mommy isn't coming back, sweetheart. I need to take you and your sister." she quietly spoke before trying to pull Cassidy out of my arm. I began to scream, everytime she tried to grab Cass from me. "I can't. I can't" I shouted at the woman. She backed up "Okay. Well can you at least tell me your names then?" she questioned. "My name is... Eloise Spencer and this is my baby sister Cassidy."
Ellie had woken up not realizing that she had fallen asleep. What she witnessed still had her in shock. She left us to go run to Cassidys room. Cassidy was nowhere to be found. Alice was standing at the end of the hallway just as she turned to go down. "What are you looking for, love?" Alice asked. "I'm..." Ellie stuttered. "Looking for Cassidy?" She asked. Ellie shook her head, yes. "Well the rest of the family are out having dinner, i told them to bring us something back." Alice reassured. "Anyway come back to the basement we have more work to do with Giselle." she finished.
Ellie walked down the bassment slowly. When she got to the basement Giselle still seemed to be knocked out. "I have got to get Cassidy out of here. I made a promise" she thought to herself.
