"I'll make sure that you won't ever see your little sister again." Those words played over and over again. Ellie was pissed she didn't understand why Alice went crazy but she wasn't about to have any of whatever Alice planned to do."Cass you don't understand this woman is crazy. I think I want to tell Joan to switch us." Ellie confessed. Cassidy was on the bed parallel to Ellie and just looked at her. "Cass...says something." Ellie pleaded. "I don't know what to say Ellie. Why would she say something like that?" Cassiidy began. "Wait! I know, Ellie did something and now she's trying to make me pay for it. This always happens, Ellie." She yelled. "Cass please...." Ellie began. "No, you always do something and I have to suffer for it. Why do you have to be you?" she screamed. Before Ellie could say anything Alice was easing into the room. "Whats going on here?" she asked. "Nothing." Ellie scoffed. "She's lying. She always lying and doing stuff thats whats going on."Cassidy complained. "Come on sweetie let's go talk about it." Alice suggested. Cassidy stomped over to the door to meet Alice and Ellie tried to grab her arm to stop her. Cassidy pulled her arm back and left with Alice.
Ellie sat on her bed and pulled out her scrapbook to draw her feelings. About an hour later Cassidy came back into the room and before Ellie could try to talk to her Alice was right behind her. "Cassidy expressed to me that she no longer wants to share a room with you. So for the moment we are gonna move her to the guest bedroom for a while but it might become permanent." Alice explained. Ellie sat there in shock as she watched Cassidy grab her some of her things and move them to the other room.
Alice went to help Cassidy with moving her stuff. Cassidy came back into the room to grab more of her belongings. "Cass, I promise that if we go I won't ever do anything to jeopardize you again." Ellie whispered. Cassidy didn't even bother to look back and simply replied "You got a chance to have a mom and dad. I want my chance now."
Those words hit Ellie hard, they had parents already. They didn't need new ones. Cassidy never got to meet their father and their mother died just before Cassidy was three. If she thought about it Cassidy never got the chance to experience their parents like she did. Ellie waited for Cassidy to leave the bedroom before letting all of her tears fall out. Her heart ached for her mother at this moment. All she wanted was her mom and she had no one, not even her sister at this moment.
A couple of days went by when Cassidy decided that she actually enjoyed the privacy of having her own bedroom. Alice was more than happy to give Cassidy what she wanted. Everyone in the house had begun to get ready for church. This was going to be Ellie's first time going and she was more than ready to get out of the house. She had already showered and began to pick out an outfit. She grabbed a grey t-shirt,skinny jeans, and she grabbed her leather jacket from the closet and began to place her hair in a high pony. She met everyone downstairs in at the front door and Alice was appalled by what she had on. "I don't think a young lady should wear something like that to the house of worship." she scoffed. Alice told Jack that he should take everyone down to the church while she went through my closet to find something "appropriate" for me to wear.
While we were in my room she made it her business to pick out my clothing. It was a frilly pink dress and white cardigan. She gestured for me to put on the clothes. "Do you really expect me to put that on?" Ellie asked in disbelief. Alice was taken back at her defiance. "I'm not arguing with you today. After you get dressed we need to fix your hair." she replied. Ellie began to shake her head no. "I'm not wearing that or letting you do my hair." she argued. "What's the problem?" Alice was growing irritated as she crossed her hands over her chest. "My mom used to do my hair. I never let anyone style it for me." Ellie admitted. "Well she died. You have me now so... get over it. Now get over here." Alice let out.
Ellie stood in the corner. "No way." she replied. Ellie was horrified by what Alice had said to her. "Either I do it or I cut it off!" Alice demanded. Ellie began to let tears out of her eyes. "Please. Dont." she begged. Alice grew annoyed and grabbed the scissors from off the desk and began walking over to Ellie. "Okay..Okay. I'll do what you want." Ellie cried. Ellie sat at the vanity as Alice curled her hair. Her long dark brown hair now resembled long Shirley temple curls. She then out the clothes on and looked in the mirror. "There... you look like a doll." Alice smiled. Ellie had tears running down her face as Alice looked her up and down. "You would make some young man very happy." Alice remarked. Alice snapped a picture of Ellie and walked out.
At that moment Alice's phone began to ring and she stepped out of the room. "Are you sure?" she asked whoever she was speaking to. "Now? I can't do it now. Earliest I can do is by tonight."she fished. Alice peeked into Ellie's room and told her that there was going to be a change of plans for the evening. "Put on some workout gear and meet me downstairs." Alice smiled. Ellie did as she was told and met Alice down at the bottom of the stairs.
Alice guided Ellie over to the locked door that she tried to open one day. It led down to what she guessed was the basement. Alice took a key from her breast and unlocked the door. Alice urged Ellie to go down into the basement. Ellie slowly walked down each step and tears began to dance down her face. When she reached the bottom Alice cut on the light and went over to cut the light on. When she was finally able to get a grip of what was in the basement her stomach turned.
