"Sorry I somehow ended up switching to first person pov toward the end of this Chapter. I didn't feel like changing back so I am sorry about that. It's just the preferred writing style for me."- Vanillabean18Alice instructed Ellie to help her move the now incapacitated Giselle into the truck. Ellie got into the car and quietly looked out the window as they took off. She wanted this to hurry up and be over so that she could check on her sister. She couldn't trust anything coming out of the Duncans mouth. She even thought about what could possibly happen to Caroline and Lettie. "I talked with Joan the other day and I wanted to inform you that Jack and I are proceeding with adopting Cassidy. Maybe if you behave we would consider beginning paperwork on you." Alice smirked. Ellie's heart sank. Her head quickly shot over to Alice who was steady focusing on the road.
"Why are you doing this to these girls?..." Ellie began before being interrupted. "You're asking me why I bring up good girls and find them good husbands? I just love doing good work. I save these girls from whatever life they had before me. For most of these girls I am their last hope." Alice spoke as she stared at the dimly lit road ahead. Ellie in the backseat to see Giselle still knocked out from whatever Alice had given her. Ellie didn't know how long they had been driving but Giselle was beginning to come out of her drug induced slumber. "Nearly there." Alice mumbled as she turned down a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. Ellie felt uneasy, her stomach was in shambles. There was nothing that she could do that would possibly get her out of this situation.
The car came to a complete stop after a couple of miles. Giselle was more alert and scared. She had begun screaming and trying to get out of the car but Alice had the doors locked. Another truck pulled up in front of them and parked their car. A man and a woman got out of their car and headed over to them. "Ellie help me get her out of the car." Alice demanded. Ellie was mortified but she did as she was told. Alice held the girl's arms and Ellie held her legs. The girl pleaded for Ellie to let her go but she just tried to tune the cries out. "Stand up." Alice demanded. Giselle didn't listen to the command and as a consequence Alice slapped her across the face. "Now you know I showed you how to be a proper young lady." Alice scolded through her teeth. The woman looked back at her car and made a swift hand gesture. Soon the car door opened and out walked a young man. He was tall and well dressed. "So this is the girl in the pictures?" he muttered. "Andy." his mother swatted his stomach with her purse. "I mean thank you for your gratitude in finding me a pure and virtuous wife." he smoldered. Ellie stood behind Alice not wanting them to see her
"And who is this?" the older man asked. "She is an addition to my program."Alice remarked. "Well judging by her beauty. I would like to request her for my younger son." he debuted. "She isn't available. Nor will she ever be. You see here this is my 'daughter' and I don't have any plans for her to be wed." Alice replied. "Besides, I have a girl lined up for your son soon. She is just as pure as this one right here." she finished pointing at Giselle. The man nodded his head. "Andrew... go over there and grab your wife." The older man yelled. The man nodded his head and made his way over to Giselle, she was about to run but he had a grasp around her before she could. "You are so beautiful." Ellie heard him state under his breath. Giselle fought hard but ultimately she was dragged into the car with the people.
I was shocked as Alice and I got back in the car. There was nothing else I could do but break down. I cried so hard that it began to hurt. My nose was stuffy and I could feel my eyes beginning to puff. Alice told me that there was no use in crying because what's done is done. But I felt dirty, I was an accessory to a crime. That girl didn't want to go but I helped deliver her to her fate. "Stop crying. She's better off. She's married now and is part of a very rich family. She'll have children and raise them with her new husband. It's better than whatever life she was going to have after the foster system." Alice mentioned. That just made me cry even harder. This girl was probably going to be raped and forced to have children with a man she most likely never loved. As I cried I just knew that I had to get me and Cassidy out of there one way or the other.
