Chapter 41

Skye

That same night, I couldn't stop thinking about what happened. I was finally free, Jacob is gone and its just me and mark. I can finally be with him.

Right now Mark is sitting with me on my bed, I asked if he could stay with me. He gladly agreed he would.

"Thank you Mark, you saved me."

"I couldn't watch you die, you still have a life to live Skye."

"I have a life because I met you."

"Skye, this whole time I've known you, I have never seen you take the fall. When he was about to choke you, I saw you accept the faith."

"I did accept it. Earlier when we were fighting I told him I would rather die in his hands then watch my you and my family die because I left. It's true mark, you know that. "

"You're a woman of her word, you keep promises."

"But I was stupid to stay with him you know. I could have done something, but I just stayed and let him do whatever he wanted. Look were it put us."

"It lead us to each other."

I look at mark and see him smile shyly. I smile back at him, I then crawl towards mark on the bed and kiss him tenderly. Even though it hasn't been that long since we've kissed, I missed his lips. It's like they fit perfectly with mine. His lips move in sync with mine and he gently places his hands on my face, to make sure I wouldn't move in anyway.

"We should get to bed soon, we've had a busy day." I said while pulling away.

"Busy for you Skye, you can finally do what you want."

"And I have you with me."

"And you have me with you, and nothing can change that."

"Thank you so much mark."

Mark then kisses my forehead and gets under the sheets with me. I cuddle myself into his chest and slowly relax. This was finally reality, I have him and nothing is stopping me.

Mark

Skye, you don't know how much I want to tell you; so much. I stared down at her and watched her breathing slow down, keep such a pace that seemed peaceful. I held her close to me, I was never letting go. I knew now I can fight for her. I take a deep breath and relax into her pillows. This is real, I have her and nothing is stopping me.

The next day we were packing, Skye was ready to leave. I didn't want her to leave but what can you do, you can't stop someone from doing what they want to do. I know that for sure.

Skye

As I was putting away my art supplies in my case, I could see mark slowly dragging himself. I didn't want to leave him, but for now it was the right thing to do. I just need to get away, I can't stand to be in LA anymore. Hopefully that feeling will change.

I stop what I was doing and pull out my iPod, Jacob broke my phone, and I plug it into my small portable speaker. I then select the song "XO" by Beyoncé.
