Chapter 43

*thanksgiving*

Mark

I ate with my family, they smiled, laughed and talked. I just sat there and played with my food, I wasn't really hungry.

"Mark, honey, eat you're getting really thin." My mom said with a concerned look.

"I'm not really hungry."

I then feel a nudge on my side, I look over and see Thomas giving me that look. That look meant, "you have to find a way to get over her mark. Remember what we talked about."
That look said it all.

"Sorry, I'll eat."

"Thank you mark." She said while patting my hand.

I ate, I didn't really feel like it, but I did for my mother. I haven't been eating at all, being at comic con did help but the feeling didn't really last. Why is this affecting me so much?

Sure we fell for each other, but I didn't think it would get this hard to be without her. I thought maybe it's a long process, the feeling has not changed since day 1. Everyday I think of her, and I feel this passionate bliss, and then I see her leaving, and I feel like I have a sharp pain in me. It just hurts, everyday that I go to bed I feel her with me. It's not like she's dead, but it's feel like she's here with me. I'm going insane.

Skye

I sat at the table and I just kept eating. I was so hungry, I couldn't stop.

"Honey, you might want to slow down. You don't want to get sick." My mother said.

"I won't, I'm just really hungry today. More hungrier than usual."

"I wonder why?" She said sarcastically.

I ate until I couldn't take anymore. Some days are weird for me, I've been eating a lot.

*christmas*

Mark

We opened our presents, I wasn't really big on presents so I didn't get much. I sat there and looked at them all. It was nothing important, just some stuff I needed but I did hold one gift that mattered most to me. It was a ring. I had bought a ring for Skye, I was going to give it to her before she left. It was sort of a promise ring. I bought so she could always remember me but I never gave it to her.

I found it somewhere in my house and for some reason I bought it with me. I held it in my hands safely, I would never lose it.

"Mark, what's that in your hand." Asked my niece Miranda.

"It's a ring for someone special. I just bought it with me."

"Can I see it."

I nod my head and slowly open it. Once it's fully opened Miranda's jaw drops a little, she looked surprised.

"Wow, whoever is that special someone is very lucky. It's so beautiful. So who is that special someone?"

"She's s a friend of mine. I was going to give it to her before she left but I didn't."

"Why not?"

"I don't know, I guess I just didn't."

"Well she's missing out Mark, she better catch you before someone else does." Miranda says before leaving me, ruffling my hair.

I smile to myself and close the box. I held it close, I could never left it go. I can never let her go.

Skye

We opened our presents, I didn't really ask for anything this year. I watched the fire glow with such an orange color. I felt the warmth, but it didn't make up for the warmth Mark gave me.
