Dreams and Nightmare chapter 29.

I want to finish this book very badly, but my mind is on enemy mode this year.. Since the great loss in my life everything is unstable and messy same like my brain. Okay, so end to a self pity story and lets carry on with our ride.

Steve's P. O. V.

        My Hemophobia didn't get much time to act because it was overall took by fear of  continues guns shot. The officer was violently shouting at us to 'get down' , while he took partially conscious Anuj towards the door which I don't know where it leads. At the same time the Officer took out his gun for defense, and started shooting out from near by window. On the other hand we three were hiding behind the sofa. Suddenly two man appeared from nowhere, first we were scare like holly shit, because they were carrying guns, and aiming towards us. For a minute I closed my eyes and I heard the gun shot.
         I  wanted to prepare my self  for the view I might get when I will open my eyes, but it didn't. It  was followed by another shot and then another, being restless I  opened my eyes and instantly searched for Navi, who was hiding next to me holding Riddhi's hand tightly. We all were alive, thank goodness. My eyes started searching again but this time for men who were the cause of my fear, both were using wall next to windows as their shield, and firing at our attacker. I figured out that those were officer's men, when I saw him nodding at them. Next he took Anuj inside that unknown door and nodded at us. It was our clue to follow him.
       Finally, I came to know It was a kitchen with only one small window, exhausting fan attached to it. So it was safe to discuss the further a do. The officer helped Anuj to lye on the floor and took the kitchen napkin to tie on his arm.

    "Is there any way to get out of here?"

     The officer inquired, breathing heavily. And we all looked at Navi with hope, but somewhere I knew it that this situation is inescapable. But then it was Navi and Riddhi's combo, anything is possible.

     "Back garden"

     "Lead the way!"

      The man was again in action, took Anuj in bridle style but his step paused when he heard Navi's next words.

     "We can't, the room which leads to back garden is on opposite side of hall. we have to cross the windows first to get there and they are firing blindly."

    "We can, nothing is impossible if we want girl."

    "Ya girl, we have to try. It's the matter of life and..."

      Riddhi sighed while looking at, unconscious pale Anuj. She wasn't that bold to complete that sentence. Navi followed Riddhi's gaze and scoffed with her signature eye roll.

    "Okay! Okay! But, I'm not girl anymore. What? you forgot or what I'm married now."

    Navi, frustratingly marched out of the kitchen. Riddhi forced a smile on her besty's 'not so cool joke'. And me? My heart ached when she said those word and somewhere I felt my love for her getting like ocean on her idiocy to think that marriage is certificate for her to be a woman. For me she is still a girl, a badass girl, my girl. Who I still can't believe is not mine.
        Door opened, and gun shorts   started testing our hearing abilities on heavy dose. Officer's men were restlessly firing. Anuj's  arm was still bleeding, we laid him on sofa and commenced pushing the sofa to the other end of the hall. Navi and Riddhi were crawling behind the shield of sofa, while officer and me were dragging it. It was not an easy task to move that monster from its place and with the weight of Anuj on it... Officer pushed it his mass strength and I pulled it with every drop of fortitude in me, and it finally ambled a foot. I was feeling more confident now but a painful cried shattered it soon. There I saw bayonet wound spilling blood, officer was holding right side of his waist, with eyes shut in pain. I was about to leave my spot to help him out, but he opened his eyes and waved his hand to stop me. I followed his untold  instructions, he then pulled the table cloth to tie his wound tightly and take the hold of sofa again, inspired by him I commenced the task.
          When we were in the middle of the hall, my confidence got struck again by another thud, it was one of our man fall near by me dead. Officer read the fear, written all over my face and nod his head side by side to notify me not to stop. We sped up and was about to pass by the last window, when I actually touched the God's gate and came back. A bullet whisk touching my hair tips, I was stunned for a minute, but fear geared up my action and finally we were at the three step announcing the end of the hall. Girls gave support to make Anuj stand and led us to the room. I gave my shoulder to officer for support. The first thing I notice in the room was a duplex bed on which I helped officer to sit, and as Navi said room was attached to small garden and had only one window on the right side of entrance door, have its opening in the hall from we came. Girls laid Anuj on the bed next to officer and Navi went straight to the glass slider door to open it, She indicate us to follow her. Riddhi caress Anuj cheek with worries in her eyes then she look at me and nod. We went to garden to inspect it, with officer on our toe. It was a small garden with plant pots on the border. Three walls  of about ten to twelve feet of hight separating the area from neighbourhood, and the top of the wall was covered with the pieces of broken glasses, may be because of security reasons. But the question was how will cross this security threat without hurting ourselves. On the other hand the gun shots dreadful noise from right hand was quite disturbing to think about anything. Navi, suddenly came out from the room with thin cotton mattresses and Riddhi helped her to put those mattresses on the wall to cover the pieces of glass. Officer was looking at both the girls with praising eyes, then he noticed me and came to me limping.
