You were my heart
You were the bones holding up my body
I loved you
And you left me
I wish with everything I am that it wasn't so easy for you
That walking away wasn't so simple
That shattering me wasn't like snapping a twig in half
Was it really that easy for you to say those things?
To make me believe you loved me
Believe you would stay
How can it be so easy for you to say you still care
For you to continue to break my heart
It's like you won't let me leave
Even after you left me.
When I needed you the most.

Poems for Soft Hearts Full of Longing
PoetryThese poems discuss difficult topics that I or my friends have experienced in our lives. As some of my favorite poetry authors say ( Lovelace and Kaur) say "Practice self care before, after, and during reading these peoms."
