LET ME TELL YALL RIGHT NOW, THIS IS A LONGGG ASS CHAPTER
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~It's been exactly one whole day and a couple of hours since Daryl, Michonne, Tyreese, and Bob left to go get the medicine that Hershel needed to help the people who had become sick.
Rick didn't want anyone to know but this morning he told Keeley that Carol was the one who killed Karen and David. He said that he understood what she did, that she was only trying to prevent the sickness from spreading, but the tone of his voice and his facial expressions disagreed.
And for some reason, Keeley didn't question him when he said that he was going on a run with Carol and that they would be back in no time.
Keeley sat in the office chair that was in the room that she and Maggie were staying in, spinning around thinking about what Beth had said earlier.
"You're cursed."
"She's dead because of you."
It was all she kept thinking about and Keeley hated herself for the fact that she let Beth bring back all this doubt she had about herself, about the things she's done.
What Beth said had some truth to it, it was one of the reasons why she was so scared to tell him how she feels. What if she did let him in and be happy for a little bit, and she could end up losing him, or not being enough for him. Or he'd betray her.
What if he just didn't like her back?
Then she paused, here Keeley was thinking about him and about what Beth said that she was so clueless about what was happening around her. More people were getting sick including Glenn and Sasha. And both of them were trying their best to help Hershel out when they were on the verge of passing out every two seconds.
Some people from Cellblock D weren't showing any symptoms of the sickness which was good, but from what Glenn told Maggie, people in solitary were dropping like flies. But for the people who were still alive, Hershel made them drink some tea from some herbs that he and Carl collected from the woods yesterday.
A knock from the door pulled Keeley away from her thoughts as a tear-stained Maggie walked in sitting down in the other chair across from her.
"Mags, hey. You okay?" Keeley asked her as she tried to compose herself. "Is Glenn okay?"
Maggie nodded her head, smiling a little. "He's fine, my daddy said that he's resting."
"You didn't get to see him?" Maggie shook her head.
Keeley scooted closer time Maggie, and placed a hand on her lap, "Mag, I'm sure he's fine. You know Glenn would see you no matter what." She told her trying to bring some comfort to the brunette. "If you want to be worried, worry about me. You two got married and didn't tell me after a week passed, so you should be careful around me because I'm still pissed about it."
Maggie laughed for the first time today, and it was a genuine laugh.
"How are you so calm, Keeley? After everything that's happened today and with Beth, how are you able to do it?" Maggie asked as she wiped her tears away.
"I don't know Maggie if I'm being honest. I- I know I told Beth that she shouldn't push her feelings aside but right now, bottling everything that I feel is the only thing that's keeping me together. I didn't know how to cope with trauma like a normal person and I still don't know how to. But I guess I'm used to it, I did it for years." Keeley said, giving Maggie a sad smile, waiting for the subject to change off of her.
