Lena:

"I don't know? I guess call our moms?"

She looks at me and nods. I head to the front of the other side of the room.

I call my mother.

"Hello."

"Hello Lena Elizabeth."

"Mom, I am gonna stay over at the Quinn's tonight if that's okay?"

"What on Earth do you mean?"

"With the storm coming in, they won't be able to come in until tomorrow night. School is cancelled."

"And you are going to stay there with those kids alone?"

"I am not alone mom, me and the other babysitter are here."

I have yet to tell my mother that I like girls. Or that Stef is the other babysitter, or that we are dating.

"It's not a boy is it?"

I smile and laugh in my head. If she knew, she would wish it was a boy.

"No ma."

"Alright, sweetheart. Do you need some clothes?"

"No, the Quinns said we could where Jill's clothes."

"Okay dear. I will be here and your father will be a the parlor tomorrow call us if you need anything and stay safe."

"Bye Mom."

After I hang up I go and sit back down. I hear Stef on the phone.

Stef:

After Lena goes and calls her mom I call mine.

"Hey Mom."

"Stefanie."

"I am babysitting all night and all day tomorrow so don't wait up."

"Fine."

"Fine."

"But, Stefanie.."

"Hold up Ma the Quinns are ringing in."

I hang up on my mother and answer the Quinn's call while Lena sits and stares at me eating some popcorn. I wink at her.

"Hello."

"Hey Stef. Did you call your parents?"

"Yes we did we can stay."

"Awesome. Well, rest easy girls."

"Bye Robert And Jill."

I hang up with the Quinn's and before I call my mother back I look at Lena who hasn't took her eyes off me.

"What?"

She doesn't say anything.

"What?"

"You didn't tell me so I am not gonna tell you."

I laugh and kiss her forehead sitting down beside her and calling my mother back.

"Hey Mom."

"Stefanie."

"What do you need?"

"I need you here by noon tomorrow."

"What why?"

"I have work."

"Work? Really?"

"Yes really. As much as you keep denying the fact that I am not going to run again, I have work. 8 kids can not stay here by themselves."
