Stef:

I got up at 5 am. I guess my body is used to waking up at this time to wake up my siblings and make breakfast.

Today is no different I guess.

I get up and kiss Lena on the forehead. And walk out of the guest room.

How did I find this room?

It takes me a good 30 minutes or so to find my way to the main entrance.

I head upstairs, all the kids are still asleep. It looks like it hasn't stormed here yet which is a good sign.

I head to the kitchen.

I make chocolate chip pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, and a fruit salad. I look at the time and it's now 7. I begin my cooking.

I look at the doorway and see Lena.

"Morning."

She smiles

"How did you find your way to the kitchen so easy?"

I laugh.

"I didn't. Took me 30 minutes."

I see her rub her eyes. I pour her a glass of orange juice.

"This always helps me wake up."

She smiles at me. I continue cooking. I see Lena has the baby monitor with her.

"What?"

"I can't believe you got up early and cooked for us."

"Why's that so hard to believe?"

I laugh.

"It's not I just.."

I walk over to her and kiss her forehead.

"I know love I know."

She laughs.

"This orange juice is really good."

"No pulp."

I laugh. I am still cooking. I flip some pancakes and talk to Lena some more. I check on my biscuits and ask Lena to cut some fruit for me.

I am frying some bacon and sausage when Lena finishes the fruit bowl.

"Where did you learn how to cook?"

"You got to learn if your mom isn't around to feed you."

"I am sorry Stef."

"It's okay. If she didn't leave I wouldn't be able to make these killer pancakes."

I slide a plate over to her. She puts some syrup on her pancake.

"Oh my god. That's-that's amazing. Wow."

I laugh.

"Thank you."

I look to the doorway and see Nora.

"Hey Nora."

"Whatever you're cooking Stef smells amazing."

"Thank you."

"Mom and Dad never cook for us. They always just hand us cash and tell us to go across the street."

I look at her.

"Really?"

"Yeah. Anyways what are you cooking?"

"Lots of stuff. Pancakes, sausage, bacon, biscuits, fruit, and scrambled eggs."
