Stef:

I open my eyes. Me and Lena are in the same position as earlier. I grab my phone and check the time, it's only 4.

I slowly get out of the bed and lightly lay Lena down. I cover her up and kiss her forehead.

I head downstairs.

"Hey Stef."

"Hey Dana"

"Where is Lena?"

"Oh, she's taking a nap. She has been for out for about a hour and a half now."

"Oh. Well, would you like to help with dinner?"

"Yes, please. What can I do to help?"

"Well, you can wash your hands and make a salad."

I head to the sink and wash my hands really good. I go to the table and begin cutting some grape tomatoes in half.

"So, Stef. The Interrogation Game, Are you ready?"

I look up at her.

"As ready as I ever can be."

She smiles.

"Good. I will start with basic questions about you and they will get more real as we go farther."

"Go ahead."

I put the tomatoes in a bowl, and grab a onion and begin to cut.

"Okay. What's you favorite color."

"Well, I don't have a favorite. I have ones I like, but I am not the one to play favorites. I like Black, red, and yellow can be a cool color sometimes."

I am telling the full truth with no hesitation. I put the onion pieces in a bowl and grab a carrot.

"You're very good at making salads. Lena says anything you cook is really good. Where did you learn to cook?"

"Well, my mother was, Well is gone all the time, so when I was younger ... I learned how to cook. I mean someone had to cook for the 9 kids she has. So, with me being the oldest it was my responsibility. And if my mother would have thought me how to cook, it most likely would have been crack."

I swallow the lump in my throat and put the carrot pieces in a bowl and grab the cabbage.

"What's your favorite meal to cook?"

"Umm, well I love to make pancakes. I have to make them healthy for my brother. So, I learned a good recipe that your daughter, as well a my siblings love. They are gluten free and have hardly any sugar. Plus, the have some Choc. Chips in them or sometimes I put fruit in there. I don't know why but pancakes are really fun to make."

I put the cabbage pieces in the giant bowl and get the lettuce.

"Alright we are gonna get a little tougher."

"Go for it."

"Alright. What colleges do you plan on applying to?"

I look up at her. Damn. I don't want to lie to her, but I also don't want her to tell Lena.

"Umm, well me and Lena were gonna apply to UCSD together. I also want to apply to Ohio State. Maybe a couple in town. Probably apply to UTM. And I plan on applying to Yale but I haven't told Lena yet."

"Yale. That's a big school."

"Yep. But, they could help me get a undergrad in law school, while I work on what's really important to me. Wedding Planning."

"Well, those are some big goals."

"Yes ma'am"

I put the lettuce in the bowl and mix together the Lettuce and cabbage.
