𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐭

𝟳: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗱

The day was nowhere near over. The bell had just finished ringing meaning it was time for the fourth period. For Kenzie that was gym. Kenzie strolled the hallway looking miserable as ever. She didn't think her first day of school would be like this. After finding the gym she noticed all the girls were walking into the locker room so she followed.

All the girls were being loud and playful. Three girls were chasing each other around. Other girls sat on the benches gossiping. While others minded their business and put on their gym uniform. Kenzie scanned the locker room not really knowing what to do until two girls approached her. One face was very familiar to her.

"Hi, I'm Lily. We were in the same math class earlier."

"Oh yeah I remember you were sitting right in front of me."

"Well who would forget a face like mine. Anyway, I just wanted to ask you something. What's your relationship with Johnny?"

"Are you guys like cousins?" The perky brunette next to her said. "Oh by the way I'm Bella."

"Johnny and I are..."

Kenzie was about to easily answer this question but made a pause when she remember what Johnny told her earlier. She remembered that he didn't want people to know about them living together.

"I'm sorry I can't tell you this."

"Come on Kenzie aren't we friends you can trust me," Lily said wrapping her arm around Kenize's shoulder. "Friends have each other backs and tell each other everything."

"I'm really sorry but I cannot tell you."

"That's alright then," Lily said as she quickly removed her arm off of Kenzie shoulders. "I guess we're not friends then."

Lily then walked off, not forgetting to bump shoulders with Kenzie as she walked past. Bella looked at Kenzie with an apologetic look and followed after Lily. The locker room was empty now. Everybody had left and made their way into the gym leaving Kenzie behind.

"Here take this," A girl said, throwing an extra pair of gym clothes at Kenzie. "You can have the locker next to mine."

"Thanks, I'm Kenzie."

"I'm Annie. Here some advice don't hang around people like Lily. Her dad helps fund the school so she practically gets to do whatever she wants. Get on her bad side and your life is ruined."

"I guess I'm already on her bad side."

Annie chuckled as she closed her locker and sat down on the bench to tie her sneakers. "Get changed then come out to the gym floor. I'll wait for you at the door."

"Thanks," Kenzie said as she opened the locker Annie said she could use.

The two girls walked out into the huge gym after getting properly changed. The boys and girls were separated. The boys on the right side of the gym while the girls on the left. Everyone was spread out across the floor. Different clicks standing or sitting in a circle probably talking about what they're going to do after school today. One person was quick to catch Kenzie's attention. Johnny was sitting on the bleachers next to another boy. They seem to be having a pretty deep conversation.

"Who are you looking at?" Annie asked as she looked into Kenzie direction. "Johnny? Why are you staring at that buffoon?"

"He's not a buffon. He's just really grumpy."

"Tell me about it. Hate to break it to you but he's way too obsessed with his girlfriend Nadia to even notice you."

"Nadia? Nadia broke up with Johnny last summer."

"Wait they broke up..." Annie stared at Johnny with regret in her eyes. She's been teasing the boy since yesterday not knowing that the two had broken up. "Why didn't he tell me?"

"He's been pretty depressed about it."

"I'll be back Kenzie," Annie ran across the gym and towards the two boys on the bleachers.

"Alright everybody gather around!" The gym teacher yelled.

Kenzie nervously looked towards Annie who was halfway across the gym hugging Johnny. She didn't like the idea of being alone again. Then she walked towards the gym teacher to hear the instructions for today.

"Today we're playing volleyball. I was too lazy to get the nets so for today just get into a group of five and kept the ball from touching the floor," The gym teacher instructed before blowing her whistle.

Kenzie shyly looked around the gym. Annie was still talking to Johnny and her other friend. Everyone else had seemed to already gather around in a circle and started hitting the volleyball around.

"Kenzie over here!!" Lilly called out as she waved to Kenzie. "Join our group."

Kenzie ran over to Lily and her group. The group consisted of Bella Lilly and two other girls who all had mischievous smirks on their faces. Kenize joined the circle as the girls actually started to play the game. They were passing the ball around nicely not letting the ball touch the floor then Lily just stopped the game. The girls circled around Kenzie stepping closer to her each time.

Soon from now Kenzie was circled in by the girls. Lily got in front of Kenzie and pushed her left shoulder.
"Listen Kenzie, I understand that your new to this school so I was going to let you off easy."
Lily pushed Kenzie left shoulder again but this time with more force.
"I don't like being lied to."
Lily this time used both hands and pushed Kenzie back with force.
"So when I ask you something you answer it."

Lily took a final push at Kenzie causing her to fall on the floor.
"Do you understand or should I make you?"

Kenzie was speechless at this point. She didn't know what to do. She didn't want to turn on her intruder mode because then people will figure out that she's a robot.

Lily grabbed the ball from one of her friends and threw the ball allowing it to hit Kenzie on the arm. "Oh no I'm so sorry, I slipped," Lily giggled.

Kenzie was extremely confused but smiled it off like it was nothing. She tried to get up but another girl then slammed the ball at her. This time there was no apology. Lily grabbed the ball and slammed it again. All the girls in the circle continued to do this except Bella. Bella looked at Kenzie the whole time telling the girls to stop.

Before Lilly could throw the ball again Johnny caught the ball in his hands. Behind him was both Annie and the other boy. Johnny gave the ball to Annie before grabbing Kenzie by the hand and dragging her out of the gym. The other boy followed. Annie then threw the ball at Lily causing Lily to fall. The other girls quickly ran to check up on Lily. Annie then stormed out of the gym following behind Johnny.

"Are you dumb!" Johnny yelled at Kenzie, "They're bullying you!"

"Bullying me? Why?"

"Johnny your friend is crazy," The curly head boy behind Johnny spoke.

"Stop smiling like an idiot all the time Kenzie and learn to do stuff for yourself." Johnny said aggressively, staring at Kenzie.

"Johnny relax," the curly head boy said, placing his hand on Johnny's shoulder.

"I'm not going to relax Hayden, she's making my Junior year miserable. Can you just not cause me trouble for one minute."

"I'm...sorry," Kenzie spoke in a soft voice.

"Johnny stop it," Annie said trying to break up this argument. "Why are you yelling at her? She didn't plan any of this to happen."

"No Annie, he's right, I've been making his life miserable. I'm sorry Johnny I'll leave you alone." Kenzie said as she walked away.

Johnny starred in the distance as the robot walked away. Annie and Hayden sympathetically looked at Johnny.

Johnny knew he messed up but had too much pride to admit it.
