Why do we, as humans, have to be so greedy?
The things we don't have, we want. Why is that? Why is it that we cannot be satisfied with what we are given and help those who need it? Those who do not have a bed to sleep in at night, a roof over their heads, enough food to feed their families, enough clothes that fit them and / or are not torn and dirty. Those who don't have enough money to send their kids to school or look after their families, or those who never got the chance to get a good education leaving them with a disadvantage to getting a suitable job to earn enough money to care for their family. Or those who have survived / are surviving through traumatic experiences and do not know how to ask for help or are too scared to or do not realise that what they have gone / are going through is wrong and should have not been allowed to happen to them. Why?
Why did / do we need to go to war over a piece of land?
I mean, it's a part of nature. It's a part of the Earth. We cannot and do not own the earth (land). We cannot own or control nature. If anything, nature owns / controls us. I mean, is it not clear that nature owns us? If we, as humans, had to fight a war against nature.
Who do you think will win?
Nature is who will win. When nature throws us a tsunami, it is like nature is throwing a bomb at us, and what can we do to stop it. Nothing. We can do absolutely nothing. It's impossible to prevent a natural disaster. People have tried in some countries, and it doesn't work. If we disrupt nature, nature will repay us by disrupting us worse. Nature is strong, stronger than we will ever be. Essentially, we began a war with nature the second we chose to destroy and disrupt the way nature works.
Why do we do anything?
Anything and everything that we do has a reason for it being done. When you brush your teeth, you are driven to do did because you have a reason – to have clean teeth. When you drive, you have a destination to get to. But those are simple things that we do. So why do we lie? What could be the reason to lie?
To protect someone, maybe. But wont keeping that person in the dark hurt them more if or when they find out? Perhaps there are time where lying to protect is okay. Maybe it to avoid being punished. Or perhaps to receive a reward not otherwise easily accessible. However, if you going to lie to receive a reward, would you really feel like you deserve that reward? Would it really be worth it? Worth destroying someone elses chance at receiving the reward that they worked hard to received.
One thing I dont quite understand is why we lie to win the admiration of others. These lies to increase popularity range from white lies – to enhance a story – to creating an entirely new and fabricated persona. If a person doesnt like you for who you are then they not worth your time. Its as simple as that. White lies arent necessarily bad, but only when they are used sparingly and, in my opinion, arent used to get others to like you.
Honestly, the only time I can think of that is the best reason to lie is to get out of awkward social situations. Like saying that something has come up and you must go, so that you can get out of a dull party. Or perhaps to end an awkward phone call by saying theres someone at the door. There is probably other reason why people lie but those are what come to mind. Why do you lie?
There are probably a thousand and one questions I ask myself every day, the majority begin with Why. The most common would have to be: Why are there always more questions than there are answers? I sometimes wish life came with an answer booklet but then again that booklet would be extremely thick, and I doubt anyone would want to even begin to look through it to find all the answers.
