Chase 9

Third Person's Pov:

"Why do you want to talk to me Erin?" He asked.

"I want to tell you the truth about the past. About you and Illa." He suddenly felt serious when she said that.

"What do you mean?" Kumunot ang noo niya dahil hindi niya alam kung anong pinag-uusapan nito.

She sighed. "She never cheated on you."

"Huh?"

"I was the one who sent those pictures." She seriously said. Kumuyom ang kamao niya dahil sa nalaman pero hinayaan niyang magpatuloy ito sa pagsasalita. "Although the pictures were mostly true, they really slept together on the same bed but that's it. Magbest friends talaga sila ni Type Viajeros. I only know that Vernilla used to like Type before but Type only thought of her as a sister that's why they became close despite Vernilla's attraction towards the man. Until Vernilla met you and that's it, she was hooked by you. Vernilla, she's my frenemy. I like her and at the same time, I dislike her. Lahat na lang kasi ng gusto ko nakukuha niya at isa ka na roon." She confessed.

"Then?" He asked, urging her to continue.

"I liked you first but you fell in love with her. At nong naghiwalay kayo, I thought that it was the chance to seduce you and break you two apart. I succeeded but when I saw you devastated because of what happened, I tried to comfort you and I tried to capture your attention para naman mabaling naman sa akin ang pagmamahal mo."

"And you succeeded." He said but he froze when she responded.

"But it wasn't enough.."

"How did you--"

Mapaklang ngumiti ang babae at kitang-kita ang sakit sa mga mata nito. "You always think of her even na magkasama tayo. Palagi na lang si Vernilla, kahit na sinasabi mong mahal mo ako dati, I can see it in your eyes that you can't forget about that woman. She still has your heart and when she came back.. I lost my hope and cheated on you." A tear fell on her eyes. 

"Here." Tinanggap naman nito ang panyong inoffer niya rito.

"And I realize the huge difference between us. Ako, naninira ako ng relasyon at cheater pa pero siya, minahal ka niya ng buong-buo at willing siyang masaktan para lang makuha ka ulit." She looked at me seriously while saying that. "Doon ko lang napagtanto bakit hindi ko siya kayang palitan diyan sa puso mo. She's a lot more than pearls and diamonds. She is not comparable to any other woman for you." She cried.

"I.. I'm sorry for using you." He sincerely said because of what she said. He was indeed sorry because everything she said was true. 

He can't forget the only woman who managed to capture his heart the first time he saw her when they were just a kid. Hanggang ngayon, isang babae lamang ang tinitibok ng puso niya, si Vernilla lang at wala ng iba. 

He lied to Vernilla about his feelings for her but it was only because he was protecting himself from being hurt by the woman he loves. Nasaktan na siya nong inakala niyang nagloko ito sa States at nagsinungaling siyang di na niya ito mahal dahil ayaw niyang masaktang muli.

And when the woman left her, he was devastated. He regretted telling her that he didn't love her. He cried a river of tears when she left him again.

He couldn't sleep well and he even visits her every week just to know if she has someone new. And when she has a new suitor, he would threaten them so that they won't steal the woman she loves. 

Hanggang sa di na niya nakayanan ang dalawang taong patingin-tingin at pasulyap-sulyap na lang dito. He rarely asks his sister for favor. 

Pero hindi na niya nakayanang mawalay ang dalaga sa kanya, sinabihan niyang ipadala nito si Vernilla pabalik sa Pilipinas at hayaan itong magtrabaho sa kompanya.
