Seonghwa lays awake in his bed as he struggles to sleep. It's not an uncommon circumstance to him, so he just gets up and tries to kill time.
He's been feeling at ease on the ship. The guys aren't hard to get along with, and has been kind to him.
Expect for Jennie.
She's been unfriendly to him since day one, from pointing a gun at him to just being rude to him. He doesn't understanding what she has against him but he has noticed that he's just not very nice in general.
She's cheeky and likes to annoy the other members purposely. She never seems to say anything nice to the guys, but they're obviously used to her like that. He also noticed that she always has a lollipop with her.
A weird habit of hers.
Jennie can be civilised and mature at times, but she seems to enjoy bickering with the others when she's in a good mood.
A very weird girl indeed.
Seonghwa makes it to the deck, wanting some fresh air and breeze. As he goes out, he immediately notices the strange girl sleeping by the front of the ship, leaning her head against her own hand as she sits at the edge of the ship, seeming not scared of falling off into the ocean.
He walks towards the girl, seeing she's only wearing a short sleeve t shirt in the cold of the night. He takes off his jacket and tries to put it on her. But before he could, she wakes up and immediately grabs her gun, pointing it at him again. Her eyes are filled with anger.
Seonghwa's startled by her quick reflex. As soon as she wakes up completely and realises it's no one harmful, she sighs.
'Sorry, just a habit of mine.' Jennie says and puts her gun away.
The prince frowns slightly as he knows something must've affected her so badly for her to have a habit like that.
And he wants to know more.
'It's okay, I thought you would be cold out here so...' Seonghwa says and finally sets his jacket on her shoulders.
'Thanks. I wasn't that cold.' Jennie says as she holds up her cup of beer and smiles cheekily. 'Want some?'
'Nah I'm good.' Seonghwa says.
'Suit yourself.' She says and sips the beer. 'I'm guessing you can't sleep?'
Seonghwa looks to the girl, and nods. It's been the most peaceful she has spoke to him, normally she would be bickering with Mingi already.
'Yea.' Seonghwa says and looks out into the ocean.
'Beer helps you know. That's why Wooyoung's always asleep.' Jennie says and Seonghwa scoffs.
'I'm sure Yeosang would argue with you if he heard you.' Seonghwa says. It's been a few days and he's been able to get along with Yeosang and Hongjoong pretty well as they're the most mature out of the group.
'He would be chasing next with a syringe already.' Jennie says, making the guy chuckle.
Seonghwa smiles after her words, being in a nicer mood now since she's been nice.
'You know how to laugh?' Jennie says hearing the rare sounds from the male.
'You know how to be nice?' Seonghwa replies with the same expression.
Jennie scoffs with an amused expression.
'I just don't like the fact that we're going near the capital because of you.' Jennie says and takes another sip of her beer.
'You have a grudge against the capital and the people from it?' Seonghwa asks as he looks to her. He sees the slight twitch in her eye.
'Just bad memories.'
Suddenly, Seonghwa realises.
'Wait, you're from the capital, aren't you?' Seonghwa says and he looks at her with a shocked expression.
Jennie smirks.
'Yes your highness.' Jennie says and Seonghwa gets even more confused.
'You treated me this way even though you knew?'
The brunette opens a lollipop she takes out from her pocket. She puts it in her mouth and smiles cheekily.
'I heard your highness don't like to be treated like royalty.' Jennie says and Seonghwa raises an eyebrow. 'And I'm just not a nice person.'
'You're not that bad right now.' Seonghwa says as he sits more comfortably, having his arm behind him as he leans back.
'Don't get used to it, I'm just a bit tired.' Jennie says and Seonghwa scoffs.
The two enjoy a bit of silence as they listen to the ocean waves which calmed their messy hearts. Both of them have pasts they want to run away from, and stories worth telling for a whole night.
'So what are you going to do now? They're be after you after finding out you're still alive.' Jennie says.
Seonghwa sighs.
'I no longer can trust anyone, since the trip I went on is a secret. There's a mole in the palace.' Seonghwa says. He knows someone has been wanting him dead for a while now, but he doesn't know who.
'Sounds shit to me.' Jennie says and throws her lollipop into the sea.
'What's with the lollipops?' Seonghwa asks.
Jennie smirks and jumps off the edge into the ship again. She throws Seonghwa's jacket at him and he catches it with a clueless look.
'It's a secret.'
She smiles mischievously before walking off.
'Good night pretty face. It was a nice chat.' She says as she waves shortly before entering inside.
Seonghwa smiles, shaking his head.
Maybe she's not that bad after all.
