It was past 4 am when Sasuke woke up and realized that his feet were on top of Sakura's lap, still covered by the comforter she gave him.
Sakura was seated, her head rested on the backrest of the sofa, and was fast asleep. He felt a lot better than he was last night but his skin still felt a little hot. He moved into a sitting position that made Sakura wake up.
"Go sleep in your room, I'll be fine," he told her."Are you feeling better?"
"Yes, thanks. You can go to your room now."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. Uhm, by the way Sakura, my phone and wallet are still inside the pocket of my pants."
"Is that why you're up so early? I'll go get it, just lie down again."
"No, but okay, thanks."
Sakura made her way to her backyard where she hung Sasuke's clothes. She reached for his phone and wallet from his pants. She had no intentions but she couldn't help but peek on his phone. She pressed anywhere on his touchscreen phone, then it lit up. She knew it was locked, but no messages? Even from his family? He wasn't home all night! They didn't worry about him?
And she also wanted to peek in Sasuke's wallet. She wasn't planning on doing anything with his money, she just wanted to take a look and so she opened it.
She saw at the clear ID pocket was a wallet-sized picture of a smiling Sasuke with Sarada when they were together at the amusement park. The picture has a designed border, and at the bottom right, was the name of the amusement park. It was a print out photo from one of the rides. She stared and felt like crying, deep down inside she kind of wanted to work things out with Sasuke, for their daughter's sake. She pulled the photo from the wallet as she wanted to take a closer look at the picture, but was surprised to see there was another picture at the clear ID pocket, the picture behind the amusement park photo—it was her. Her graduation toga photo. She looked really young at the picture, this was for their college yearbook, the photo was taken during her early twenties.
Tears started pouring down her cheeks, and with all the reminiscing she did last night while she was staring at his ex fiancé, she'd be lying if she said that she had totally moved on from him.
She didn't date again because she was focused on her daughter. And now that Sasuke was back into her life, it was impossible for her to think of dating other men.
She put back the picture of Sasuke and Sarada in his wallet, wiped her tears, and headed back to the living room.
"Here you go," Sakura handed him his things. Sasuke looked at his phone and sighed, like he already knew it. No one will check on him. Because it was pretty obvious, he was staying at Sakura's.
He tried to sit up again so he can placed his things on the coffee table, but Sakura was the one who did that for him. After that, Sakura was trying again to lie him down carefully.
"Go to you room, Sakura. Get some more sleep."
"I just want you all better when Sarada wakes up."
"I know, me too."
"I'll go up now, then."
"Okay. Thanks again, Sakura. Uhm, by the way, do you mind if I turn on your TV later around 5? The news starts at 5 and I wanna know the weather reports."
"Sure, go ahead. If you need me, my room is the first door upstairs, okay?"
"Okay, thank you."
She wanted to stay in her living room and keep an eye on Sasuke, because after what she saw on his wallet, she believed that she can now do what he asked her to do.
