Chapter 8

Yibo just stood there scrutinizing the situation that he is stuck in. He took a deep breath as an unknown pain wrapped his heart. Xian is a very good friend of his and Zhan is the first person to steal his heart. He neither wants to lose Zhan nor wants to hurt Xian. But he has no choice because for Zhan to stay, Xian has to disappear and for Xian to come back, Zhan has to disappear.

And that's when a small smile arose on his face.

"Instead of dwelling on the past and thinking about the future, let me just live in the present. " He said with a smile.

"I don't know what the future holds. Things that are bound to happen will happen. I can neither change the past nor control the happenings of the future, so let me just enjoy my life in the present. " Yibo said.

"I like Zhan, and I'll like him even if he disappears someday. I'll never give up on him soo easily, fearing the fact that he'll leave me oneday. Yes, I'll live in the present and give him all my love instead of worrying about the future. " Yibo said with a smile and splashed some water again on his face before walking out of the washroom.

He saw Zhan eating the ice cream with a wide smile on his face while his friends sat there observing Zhan carefully while eating their ice creams.

Yibo walked towards them with a smile on his face. A smile which showcased soo many unknown emotions. Zhan turned to look at Yibo who was approaching him with a smile on his face and that smile made Zhan's heart flutter. It was the first time Zhan felt like that in his entire life. Yibo took a seat next to Zhan, his eyes not ready to leave Zhan's face and so was Zhan's. His eyes were fixed on Yibo's face. They stared at each other, as a melody which made a warm emotion wrap their bodies played in their heart.

"Where had you been? " Seungyoun's question brought them out of daze. They both sat there as if nothing happened.

"Washroom. " Yibo replied.

"What took you this long? Stomach upset? " Wenhan asked.

"Not really. " Yibo said.
"Well, Zhan... I'll walk you back home if you're done. "

Zhan nodded as he shoved the last bite into his mouth.

"I'll come with you. " Seungyoun said as he hurriedly ate his ice.

"No thanks, Youn. We are leaving. I'll meet you guys tomorrow. " With that said Yibo walked out with Zhan leaving his confused friends behind.

"Why did you say no to him? He could have come with us. " Zhan said as they walked side by side.

"But... I want to be alone with you. " Yibo said without looking at Zhan.

Heat crawled up through Zhan's face when he heard Yibo' words and a tint of pink colored both his cheeks.

"Woah, Yibo. You have started already? " Zhan asked with a chuckle.

"I'm serious, Zhan. " Yibo said as he turned to look at Zhan's face.

"Try hard, Yibo. These small tricks won't work on me. " Zhan said as he walked forward. But, his heart was racing for an unknown reason.

Yibo ran a bit to catch up with Zhan's steps.

"I'll take your advice, Zhan. I'll try hard. " Yibo said as they stopped in front of Xian's home.

"I'll get going then. " Zhan waved at Yibo as he opened the gate.

"I'll wait for you here tomorrow. Let's go to the University together. " Yibo said as he waved back and walked away.

Zhan smiled to himself as he knocked on the door. Yanli soon opened the door to let him in.
