When I began this story, I was a bit burnt out from a story I had previously written (which hasn't been posted here yet), so I decided pretty early on that this one would be on the shorter side.

I had had this idea in my head for awhile and decided "A Day in the Life..." scenario might work well.

You learn what is going on pretty quickly, as far as Niall and Vada divorcing, but the reasons why unravel throughout the day when they are forced to share this confined space.

I like to look at the "ending" of this story as not so much an "ending" but a beginning. You learn the struggles that have torn them both apart at the seams. You learn how they both tried to find ways to feel better - for better or worse - and how those methods ultimately drew them further apart. Vada needs to heal on her own. Niall disagrees, at first, but ultimately comes to the realization that he needs to let her go, so that she can heal; so that he can heal; and that, perhaps, one day they'll fly amongst the stars together again.
