Nisha's Point of View

"Why are you behaving so obstinately, like a child? It's as if you want to get hurt! Kneel down! You can't eat at this time. You're a constant annoyance to me!" He was furious with me, and his words made me cry.

He cut my shoulder, and though I was upset, I didn't say anything. All I could do was cry even more. I couldn't understand why I couldn't move. The emotional pain I felt was far more intense than any physical injury.

This was the third time he had hurt me. Someone rushed in, seeing the situation, and shook my body, as if trying to wake me from this nightmare.

"Nisha, wake up!" Slowly, I opened my eyes and noticed Shawn's worried expression. I wasn't sure what had happened to me. I recalled him sharing more about his own past and why he had agreed to participate in the study. His story had overwhelmed me, causing me to pass out.

"S-Shawn..." I managed to utter as I slowly rose to my feet with his assistance. What had gone wrong? I couldn't seem to find the right words to express myself. I felt as though I was a million miles away from everything. Was something wrong with me? I tried to say something, but before I could, we heard a tremendous bang from the door, indicating that it had been forcefully opened. I turned to see Nathalie standing there, a mix of hope and concern in her eyes.

"Oh, my goodness! You've woken up! Nisha, how are you doing? I am-no, we are very concerned about you!" Nathalie exclaimed, revealing her true feelings to me. I remained still as she hugged and held me tightly, as if we hadn't seen each other in a long time. My face was filled with awe, trying to comprehend what was going on. How long had I been asleep? Shawn, on the other hand, burst out laughing.

"My experience is the reason you dropped out and fell asleep. You've been sleeping and resting for the past month and a half. I tried to wake you up earlier when you were moving, trembling, and sweating. It seems like you're already showing some reaction," Shawn explained, leaving me stunned. Could he be serious? Have I really been asleep for a month and 15 days? No wonder I feel so disconnected from everything, especially from my lessons and classes.

"Don't worry, my father will excuse you for a while. For now, I'll leave you with Nathalie. I'll consult with a doctor to see if you should return to your dorm," he assured me.

As he kissed me on the forehead before leaving and turning his back on us, I was taken aback. Nathalie simply smiled and sat next to me, gently stroking my hair. I shook my head, trying to make sense of everything that had happened after I slept for so long.

"I understand you have a lot of questions, and I promise to answer them honestly. But first, let me explain. I made a vow," she said, and I closed my mouth, waiting for her to elaborate. I needed to be prepared for whatever she was about to reveal. Everything felt so chaotic and confusing to me. What might have transpired outside of the campus during the time I was asleep? What happened at Clint High in Ottawa? And what about Bryan and the lady? My mind was flooded with numerous questions.

"After the ambush at Ottawa Clint High, another piece of information came to light while you were unconscious. After the fire was finally extinguished, a new structure was erected on the site," she paused and let out a long sigh. "It's been several days, and the construction of a huge building for a new company called Red-In-A01 is underway. Unfortunately, it's true that they claim to be preparing to take on the Peur Organization."
