Okay, I may or may not tear up during this part.

Oh, stop it. I can't help that I'm emotional.

You wanna say that to my face, fuckboy?

Oh, right. You already did.

Here we go.

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine," a faceless woman sang, stroking my hair. I closed my eyes in contentment. "You make me happy, when skies are grey."

I was laying down in my bed, pillows surrounding me. The woman was sitting next to me, smiling down at me. How did I know she was smiling if she didn't have a face?

"You'll never know, dear, how much I love you," I added. It was an aura around her, I decided. She just seemed like she was smiling.

"So please don't take my sunshine away," we finished.

"Please don't leave, Mommy," I said.

"I won't," she said, smiling.

She smiled, touching my cheek. "Good night, darling." She leaned down to kiss my forehead. I closed my eyes again. This time, they didn't open.

I woke with tears in my eyes. I could still feel her hands in my hair.

Then I realized that someone was still stroking my hair. I sat up and stared at the girl. She had blue eyes and short brown hair. She laughed and hugged me tight. "You're awake!"

I knew her, but I didn't.

"Who are you?" I asked, bewildered.

She laughed and shook her head. "Even after being in a coma for two months, you still have a sense of humor." She had tears in her eyes, like she had been crying.

"No, seriously, who are you?"

The girl's eyes widened. "You -- you're not joking?"

"No. Is this some sick joke or something? Where am I?" I looked down. I was wearing a white nightgown and laying in a bed with white sheets. The room looked like a hospital. It was bright and clean. There were many beds just like mine, with racks for curtains to hide the beds. The floor was white linoleum. This information did not help my situation. Was I in an insane asylum?

I turned back to the girl. "Who -- who am I?"

She pressed a hand to her mouth. "Shit." She turned toward a door that led off into a separate room. An office? "Madam Pomfrey!"

"Yes, dear?" A young, plump witch made her way toward us through the door. She was wearing a white apron.

"She's awake, but she doesn't remember anything."

"Not a thing, hm?" Madam Pomfrey asked.

I rolled my eyes. "She is right here!" I was getting annoyed fast. I didn't know who or where I was, and nobody was bothering to tell me.

Madam Pomfrey looked at me as though just remembering that I was there. "Do you remember your name, dear?"

I furrowed my brow. "Uh..." I tried to remember. "Well... it seems... no."

She clucked her tongue. "Oh, dear."

The girl next to me stood up. "Ma'am, may I find my friends? They'll want to know she's awake."

Madam Pomfrey nodded. "Yes, that's fine. Let's see... potions won't work... Rest? No, time, she just needs time..." As Madam Pomfrey rambled, the girl ran out.
