I'm interrupting the story to tell you: my coma didn't just change my memory.

Yes, it made it hard for me to live my life, but it also changed my character.

I got a lot less wary of rules. I started breaking them more often.

Those Marauders must have rubbed off on me.

Yeah, yeah, I'm getting back to the story. Geez.

"Hey, Lily?" Remus said on a Thursday night.

"Hmm?" I was working on a chart for Herbology to identify man-eating plants at a secluded table in the Gryffindor common room. I needed it by Monday or else I wouldn't get to participate in the classification of said plants. This was make-up work; everybody else had had it done two months ago.

He lowered his voice to a whisper. "What are you going to do about the full moon?"

I put down my quill and gestured for him to sit. "I'm following the boys," I said in a low voice. "I'll figure out my animagus, but I've discovered that I'm pretty good at sneaking around. I can do it."

Remus looked worried. "What if you get hurt?"

I laughed. "Remus, I'm more worried for you than for me."

He shook his head. "Last time you went --"

"Well, well, look at the two bookworms," Sirius boomed, sticking his fingers in my sides and tazing me. I jumped about a foot in the air, letting out a little scream. He chuckled softly.

I glared at him. "I have triple, if not quadruple, the amount of homework that you do, Black."

"I'll help you, Evans," he mocked.

"Nah, I've got Remus here to help me." Sirius glanced from me to Remus, then put up his hands in surrender.

"Yeah, yeah. Sorry to interrupt your little study session," he said, smirking. He turned away.

I pulled out my wand. "Petrificus Totalus," I muttered. Sirius froze and fell face-first on the carpet. He groaned quietly as his nose broke.

The entire common room burst into laughter. Stifling a giggle, I said, "Rennervate." Sirius jumped up and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Gah, Evans, I think you broke it," he said.

"Don't be such an ass, then," I said, smirking. "Episkey." With another sickening crack, his nose was repaired.

He grinned, though it was marred slightly by the blood that had dried on his face. "I knew you couldn't just leave me there, Red."

I laughed. "Oh, but I wished I could, Black. I wished I could. Tergeo." I siphoned the blood off his face and returned to my homework, chuckling.

Not only did I have a ton of make-up studying, I also had to get back in shape for Quidditch.

I got out of classes, did homework for about twenty minutes, practiced Quidditch for two hours and an extra thirty minutes of one-on-one with James, then skipped dinner and did my homework. Almost every night I sneaked down to the kitchen at midnight to appease my rumbling stomach.

Tomorrow night was going to be worse, as it was the full moon. I had been working doubly as hard so that I wouldn't have as much homework. I still had to go to Quidditch practice and dinner before preparing for a long night.

I would also have to try out my animagus form.

I took a deep breath and continued my Herbology chart.
