Weeks passed by and Jaxon still hadn't seen Mariana. It was really frustrating for them both and they really needed to figure out to see each other again. The best bet was getting Stephanie to get William out of the house, so Jaxon could go out or Mariana could get here somehow. In front of William, Stephanie would side with him on that Jaxon shouldn't be going to Downtown and he should be going out with Rachel but behind William's back, she encouraged Jaxon to stay with Mariana and make sure William didn't do anything to break them up.
Jaxon thought secretly his mother was loving the fact that he was rebelling against his dad. She knew it hurt him and she got a kick from that. It was like her way of getting back at him for all the abuse he gives her.
William had been extra angry and stressed out. He assumed that he would win the election to become Mayor easily as the competition wasn't fierce. That was until Louis' dad stepped up and decided to run against him. Jaxon found this out at Louis' house and when he returned home, William was having a fit. It almost made Jaxon smile to see how annoyed he was, and he would be voting against him. All this stress that had been placed on him meant he was basically ignoring the family and focusing everything he had on trying to win. Perfect situation for Jaxon and Stephanie knew this also.
"Good morning Jaxon" Stephanie smiled as he entered the kitchen
"Pancakes?" Jaxon asked, "You haven't made pancakes for years, what's the special occasion?"
"I just felt like it" Stephanie beamed placing the plate in front of him
"Why are you so happy?" Jaxon asked drizzling syrup over the warm pancakes. She was oddly elated this morning.
"Your dad is gone on another business trip, he won't be back for a week" Stephanie grinned
"And what?" Jaxon asked
"You can bring Mariana up here if you like, I'll be out most of the week anyway" Stephanie said
"Are you serious?" Jaxon grinned "You would let that happen? What about Josh? He would for sure tell dad"
"Of course, I would, I can see how happy she makes you, just obviously don't tell your dad" Stephanie said "And as for Josh, he left for a on the spot ski trip with his girlfriend, so he won't be back for a two weeks"
"This is great" Jaxon smiled "Thank you mum"
"Go call her now" Stephanie beamed
Stephanie was more excited about this than Jaxon was. He was glad he had her on his side. When Jaxon called Mariana to tell her the good news, she was delighted. He told her she could stay a few days if she liked and she told him she would love to. She needed to get out of her house as her fathers were planning their wedding, but Jaxon wasn't allowed to tell anyone Uptown about that because they could get into serious trouble. Jaxon was invited to the wedding though and he would most certainly be going. He would tell his dad he was going to a party to explain the reason he was so dressed up and go to the wedding. It meant a lot to Mariana and her dads, so he would not miss it.
Later in the day, Jaxon drove Downtown to pick Mariana up. She was packing a bag when he arrived, so he sat in the living area with Leo and Sam as they bickered over what they wanted for the ice sculpture at their wedding. It was fun to watch them argue because it was light-hearted and no matter how many rude things they said to each other, you could still see the love they have for each other radiating off them.
"I want the two ice swans because their heads fold down and it looks like a heart" Leo smiled "It's romantic"
"I hate swans, they're terrifying, just get the two grooms" Sam said
