Here's a really confusing contradiction! In the books, Metal Beak is the really evil form of Kludd as leader of the Pure Ones, when he has his metal mask on. Metal Beak is also Nyra's mate in the books. In The Owls of Ga'Hoole, Metal Beak is Nyra's mate and primary villain- but he is a completely different owl from Kludd who is a lot older!
