Have you ever felt ill?
How you ever felt trapped?
Or held against your will?
Then, you understand how
it feels to be mentally ill.
My friends tried to hide their
pain, by consuming drugs and pills.
I too tried to erase my memories,
But all drugs does is kill.
For many years I've been
Mentally ill.
I've been chained
And broken, a became a man without will, I became a man that was indisposed.
Mental illness is very common,
But rarely shows.
Everyone hides it so well,
So secretly it grows.
There are days I become lightheaded,
With no hope for the future,
I'm afraid of where I'm heading.
Sometimes I get dizzy,
So afraid of changes,
I doubt I'll ever leave my city.
I'm afraid to love again,
Every time I fall too deep,
It always ends.
This is how my mental illness began,
Thats why I'm afraid to love again.
Before this illness I was cautious,
Afterward I became nauseous.
When I speak out many disbelieve,
But when left unattended,
It can become a disease.
I've battled mental illness,
Have you?
