hey guys! just a quick author's note: so i apologize for the disappearance and will try not to leave you all hanging like that again! sorry!! anyways, i wanted to let you know that i'm kinda switching up the formatting of the social media posts but the story's plot will remain the same. you might have noticed in the last chapter with the text messages.

meanwhile...

anne's face broke into a big smile as she locked her phone. she was never really mad at gilbert but at least she didn't have to pretend anymore. the only person anne was mad at was meredith. and she had no idea why.

before anne could decipher her anger, diana pulled in the driveway. cole waved from his window and the girls smiled back before diana checked her phone. her face fell. frantically, she hopped out of the car and yelled up at cole's bedroom window.

"cole mackenzie, we are going to be late! and i will beat your ass if you don't come down RIGHT NOW!"

anne watched as the boy's eyes widened before she heard muffled yells from the house. she struggled to keep in her laughter. diana sat back down and began to back out the driveway as a warning for the boys to hurry up. shortly after, cole emerged with henry. charlie was right behind them as they all sprinted out the front door.

      the boys piled in as diana continued driving. the group was finally on their way. still, anne wondered why they were in such a rush. the dance hadn't started yet and no one really gets there when the doors first open. at least, they had never done that before. she went to raise the question and as anne opened her mouth to speak, she took one look at diana's face, and thought it was better not to ask.
