I stared up at a white ceiling, my eyes stinging. I had been in the hospital for a little over a week. The day I got back from Asgard I went to a bar and got drunk. After long thinking I walked into the middle of the road hoping to get ran over. Instead, I was severely injured.
Lottie came over every single day. Today, I was getting off of my IV.
I heard the door open and saw Lottie coming through the door.
"Astrid, are you excited?" She asked, happy for me.
"Yeah," I replied. And then I remembered I hadn't told her about Loki. "Can I tell you something?"
She moved her mouth to one side, lifting her cheekbones in a funny way. She then looked at me caringly and told me, "Anything."
I stared at her and couldn't help but smirk, "I know what you mean."
Her eyebrows bunched.
"Loki is sexy looking," I told her.
She smirked and said, "Right." It took her awhile to register, but then she asked, "How would you know? You never saw him."
"But I do... You want to know where I was, I was where the gods live. Loki took me there. Apparently I'm not fully human. I'm... I'm part Asgardian. I know it's crazy, I don't even fully understand it," I blurted.
Lottie stared at me for a long time with her mouth agape. "Well. I only have one thing to say... That must have been exciting," she said believing me.
"You believe me?"
"Of course. Your my best friend. There's no way I would doubt you."
I smiled.
"Now, it's time you get that IV out," she said through pierced lips.
