I started running to catch up,"Hey wait up!" I said and finally caught up, running at the same pace as him.

He continued to walk along; un phased by my presence, looking around as if he was a sponge, just soaking every surrounding up. I studied him carefully, trying to figure out who this beautiful stranger is.

"What's your name?" I asked him, my brows furrowed, biting my lip.

Silence was all I got. "How old are you? Where are you from? Um your favorite color? Any family? Oh, and thanks... for helping me up. I could've gotten really messed up if it wasn't for you, haha-"

He licked his lips, wetting them, and cleared his throat,"Why do you ask so many questions?" He shot back and looked at me with a judge mental face.

We walked in quietude for a moment until I remarked back,"Maybe because nobody has ever answered them."

I could see the wheels and gears turning in his head as he thought and processed my suggestion.

After a couple of blocks, he finally lead us to a small book shop with a sign out front that read,"Literature & Lemons" a rather peculiar name.

We walked into the old shop, vintage furniture strewn around with soft Persian rugs and tall oak shelves that held every novel known to man. It smelt of worn old books and bright lemons, a contrast that tickled your nose in surprising delight.

"It's so... breathtaking!" I said and sat down in an old chair, sighing with happiness and awe.

"Here you go." He said and handed me a band aid.

"Thanks," I smiled and unwrapped it, about to put it on my injury.

"Wait!" He said calmly but with a stern voice, grabbing my hand to stop me. He picked up a moistened paper towel, bubbled with soap.

"You have to clean it first!" he said with a glint of fear, present in his light eyes. I gave him a confused look, taken back by his behavior.

Pressing the wet and soapy cloth against my knee, he spoke,"You don't want it to get infected."

I hissed in pain,"Well it hurts," I complained and he pressed it to my cut even harder.

"That means it's working," he said, his tongue sticking out to the side of his mouth as he concentrated.

I groaned and sat back,"Why do you care so much?"

"You have to stay healthy, everybody does, in order to enjoy life to its fullest." He scorned.

"You answered me," I smiled and he pointed to my face.

"See, you stopped complaining, happiness is the panacea to all broken things." He remarked.

I had completely forgotten about the pain due to the big goofy grin on my face.

"So that pie you offered me..." He said and stood up, his character less frozen than before.

I was surprised by his sudden light-heartiness,"Yes...and make that two slices of cherry pie with a glass of milk," I smiled and grabbed my bike as we headed down the street...
