My shoes slipped off as we ran on the grass, my bare feet treading on its green tendrils.
"Where are we going?" I said frantically as we raced with flashing lights trailing behind. It was like a mosaic of red and blue, following our pursuit.
We ran on the sidewalk, the middle of the road, and weaved through obstacles.
"Julien!" I shouted above the noise. He looked back at me with sparkling eyes, set ablaze from the adrenaline.
"Sofia...trust me," he said with a pause and inhaled confidence, exhaling his doubt.
He pulled me into a narrow alley, the space so small our chests were pressed against each other's, our hearts both beating like drums in a percussion.
The sirens drive past our hiding place, the chaotic noise soon becoming a distant echo.
I gulped looking into his crystal blue lapis eyes.
"I trust you," I whispered and he pressed his lips to mine, his mouth a smooth cool mint, just as I had imagined my first kiss to be like.
They were soft and made my whole body set aflame from the heat of us embraced together.
We moved in sync, our tongues exploring each other's mouths in an intimate exchange. We both pulled away, breathing rapidly with flushed cheeks and a whole new perspective of each other.
I looked down and bit my lip, afraid about how I was, considering this was my first time doing something like that.
"So um... it's pretty late..." He said and walked out of the alleyway, down the sidewalk and out of sight, leaving me standing alone in the night.
