Logan's POV:

It was the next day, and only just a couple hours into the morning when I heard shouts and cries along with the sound of hooves hitting the path and the whining of a familiar horse. I turned around to find Philipe running towards the house and stopped with a skid to avoid crashing. He was freaked out and if I wasn't careful he could kick me really hard and probably break something of mine. I calmed him down and looked around for any sign of Virgil or the cart to find nothing.

"Philipe!" I cried growing worried for my friend "take me to Virgil, you have to take me too him!" I begged and swung myself onto the stead who took off in the direction he ran in from. My mind was set on hoping Virgil was ok and that Philipe just got freaked out by something. But that didn't explain why his harness was hastily cut off with the cart no where to be seen. Up ahead a path was blocked by a fallen tree but Philipe didn't even pause and took down the other path. It took me a moment to realize that almost everything was covered in snow and I looked at it confused "impossible" I murmured to myself. Then I saw the wreck of Virgil's cart with his artworks scattered and destroyed. Yet Philipe kept running until I started to see a castle in the distance. It was dark like it was made of shadows and even from this distance I could see how horribly unmanaged it was. Philipe stopped at the gate and I got off of him looking at the castle uncertainly. Philipe reared himself with a loud whinny and took off without me. "Philipe!" I cried but figured it was no use. I made my way to the entrance and it opened before I even could knock. It was mostly dark with no natural light seeping in except for the doorway. "Hello?!" I shouted but my voice just echoed in the darkness.

"Look, it's another man!" a voice hissed and I looked around.

"I can see that Thomas" another voice whispered "Master won't be pleased to find another one" it added and I moved around trying to pin-point it's location.

"Janus, lighten up. He may just be the boy we've been waiting for!" The first voice countered back quietly and I walked up to see a candelabra and a clock. Without any light, the candelabra light up on its own and I picked it up in my hand holding it up to look around. I heard a cry, and I immediately recognized that voice.

"I'm coming Virgil!" I shouted and ran up the stairs moving in the direction I had heard him in. It was only a couple minutes until I found myself going up a winding staircase with the cobblestone walls practically ice-cold to the touch. I stopped at the top and almost dropped my source of light when I saw Virgil. I placed the candelabra quickly onto a ledge and ran forward kneeling down and clutching the bars. "Virgil, oh my goodness who did this to you?!" I asked and he sat up and hugged me before looking me urgently in the eyes.

"Y-you need to leave now! Before he catches you too!" He told me and I shook my head.

"I can't leave you, you're sick, cold, and I can see you're breathing much faster meaning you're on the verge of a panic attack." I bickered and he shook his head as he teared up.

"Please go, I'll be ok, better me than you!" He begged,

"He's not going anywhere" a voice boomed from the darkness and Virgil cowered fearfully. "He is my prisoner, he tried to steal from me" the figure said again and I looked at his silhouette to see he was a little taller than me, and seemed like a really large guy.

"What did he steal?" I asked as I stood up bravely.

"I wanted to get a lily flower for you like you asked" Virgil admitted and I turned to the shadowy stranger enraged.

"He stole from you? It was a flower! You probably have plenty to spare for Christ's sake!" I shouted but the figure remained where he was.

"He is a thief! So he will remain my prisoner for the rest of his life" the man shouted.
