I wake up, looking around to see I fell asleep on the couch. Petra is asleep on the recliner and I quickly remember the events of last night.
I'm engaged..
I'm going to marry Harrison Osterfield.
I hear footsteps coming down the stairs, and soon I see my guy holding our baby.
"Good morning" I say quietly.
He looks over to me with a smile, walking over and sitting down on the couch next to me.
"Good morning" he kisses my forehead.
"So.." I trail off. "I'm giving you an out."
"An out?" He questions.
"Yes, we were really sleep deprived and we've gone through a lot this last week-"
"I want to marry you, Aria Keenan." He interrupts me.
"You do?" I ask.
"I do." He smiles.
My entire life has been a shit show. Losing my dad, then my mums accident, the dark hole I went down after that. I just wanted someone to want me the way I want them.
I found my person.
"We can go pick out your ring today if you want" he says.
"I'd love that" I say, Looking over to see if Petra is waking up.
"They broke up?" He asks and I nod.
"It's so sad.. I thought she finally was changing, becoming committed.."
Haz hands Noah over to me, and I snuggle the little boy into my chest.
Petra starts to wake up and she wipes her hair from her face, sitting up.
"Oh god.. I'm sorry." She mutters. "Your first days back with your baby and I come here crying in the middle of the night."
"It's okay." I say. "Breakups are hard."
"I should go. You need time with your baby-"
"You're always welcome here, Petra." Haz says and I smile.
"Thanks Harrison, I'll see you guys later.. thanks for letting me crash." She says, standing up.
I hear a car pull into the driveway quickly, and the front door opening.
"Harrison! I need to drink mate!"
Ezra walks into the room and Petra stops in her tracks.
"Here we go" Haz whispers to me.
"Hey Ezra.." Petra says quietly.
He looks her up and down, complete and utter disgust on his face. I've never seen him look at her like that..
"Get out." He says to her.
She grabs her stuff, turning to me.
"I'll see you later" she says, walking past Ezra and out of the house.
"Bit harsh don't you think?" Haz asks Ezra as he takes Petra's spot.
"No, harsh is sleeping with my best mate and boss. That's harsh." He scoffs. "I need alcohol."
"It's morning." I laugh.
"It's one in the afternoon" Ezra says.
Wow.. my sleep schedule is already fucked up. Looks like this is my life with a baby.
"How about Haz watches the baby and I get to enjoy my first alcoholic drink in nine months." I suggest.
"You can't drink while breast feeding." Haz says.
"Actually the doctor said one glass of wine is okay, and I have pre pumped milk in the fridge for today so hah!" I say.
"Yeah alright." Haz says, taking Noah from my arms.
"Sick!" I say, popping up from the couch and pulling Ezra to the outside bar.
I open the fridge, pulling out all my favorite alcohol and mixers. It's been far too long since I've had a drink. I don't have a problem or anything, I just enjoy it every now and then. It sucks that I'm only allowed to have wine, but that doesn't mean I can't make all my fancy drinks for Ezra.
"Alright, talk it out." I say, pouring my glass of wine as I make his first drink.
"She just cheated like I meant nothing, then sits there and tells me it's because I'm not attentive enough! I have a fucking job, I do my best, and she blames me."
I hand him his drink, taking my first sip of wine.
"So you're not going to try with her?" I ask.
"I'm not wasting my time on someone who blames me for their mistake. She could have discussed how she was feeling with me, but instead did that shit." He shakes his head.
"Petra has never been good with guys.." I sigh. "She's the party girl. She's the one that every guy wants to sleep with and they fall in love and she breaks their hearts. Then she moves on to the next guy. This was different though."
"Yeah? How so? I did fall in love and she did break my heart." He states.
"It's different because she isn't moving on." I say.

Haz and I walk through the jewelry store, looking at all the engagement rings. Each one is so beautiful and unique, different bands and diamond shapes. I know Haz wants to go extravagant, big, bold, and I do too. I could be modest, but Haz will protest, saying not to worry about price, so I'm going to pick the one I love the most.
"See anything we like?" The lady asks us.
I look over at a ring, pointing to it.
"That one is beautiful." I say.
She pulls it out, holding it over the glass counter for us to see.
"This is a 12 carat diamond with a rose gold band, very beautiful." She says.
"Is that the one?" Haz asks, setting Noah in his stroller and covering him up.
"That's the one." I smile.
"Perfect!" The lady says. "Ill grab that in your size if we have it."
She walks back and I turn to Haz.
"What if it's like ten million dollars?" I ask with a laugh.
"It's only 12 carats, it'll be one million." He says.
"A million? As in dollars?" I ask, wide eyed.
"Yeah, so what?" He shrugs.
"Thats a lot of your money that doesn't need to be spent on a ring." I say.
"Our money." He corrects me.
"Huh?"
"Our money. We're getting married, it's our money now. Not just mine." He smiles.
"So.. you're saying I'm a millionaire?" I ask.
"That's exactly what I'm saying." He laughs.
"Here's to marrying a rich boy." I tease.
"Here's to marrying a stripper." He teases right back and my mouth drops.
Yeah, we're going to be great together. We're too much alike, almost like we're the same person.
The lady comes back, holding a small box. They get the payments all set up and we leave.
Haz opens the box as we sit in the car. He pulls the ring out and grabs my hand, sliding it onto my ring finger.
"You are officially my fiancé."

A/N: I've already written the first six chapters of my new book, and I love how I'm writing their personalities, it's exactly how I'd imagine they'd be in real life. I'm so excited for you all to read it!
