Day three of being on a break with Aria. I miss her so fucking much. I've put all my time into work, getting more involved with the torture and killing, which Toms enjoying quite a lot. It's rare I join in with that part of the job.
Barrett's men haven't given us anymore trouble, it's almost concerning that they just disappeared. But I guess it's a good thing.
I stare the man dead in the eyes, putting a bullet through his head. His blood has soaked my clothes from the hours of torture. He's passed out so many times that torturing him just isn't fun anymore.
"Get his body out of here. I want another." I say.
Jacob and Daniel grab the body, Daniel disgusted by the task. They drag it out and Ezra brings in my next punching bag.
"So, What is he in for?" I question, tying the man to the chair.
"Owes lots of money." Ezra answers.
"I swear, I'll pay him! I promise!" The man pleads and I laugh.
"Oh we've got a talker! Finally!" I say, stabbing the knife down into his leg, getting exactly what I want. Screams.•Aria's Pov•
"Yeah I've felt a bit better today." I tell Petra as she drives us to Tom's. I promised Nikki I'd drop Tess off there today, and I'm doing it even though I might have to see Haz.
I've got to be honest, I've missed him. But the feeling of living in a regular old house with a couple people is so nice. Not having the smell of blood and gun smoke in my nose all the time.
We get to the house and I go straight inside, Tessa running in front of me.
"Hey Daniel!" I greet as we walk down the hallway.
"Oh my god, Aria!" He says, a look of relief on his face. He hugs me, and I hug him back. "It's been so weird without you."
"Everyone's being nice right?" I ask.
"Yeah. Ezra has kept them in line" he says.
I take notice that Petra is long gone, probably off finding Ezra.
"Where's Tom?" I ask.
"In his office" he lets me know, before bidding a goodbye and walking away.
I walk down the hallway to his office, knocking before walking in.
"Hey loser" I say and he turns around from the shelf where he keeps all his files, smiling.
"Ah finally she shows her face!" He says, walking round the desk. "How ya feeling? Twins said you were feeling well?"
"I'm feeling a bit better today. Tess is runnin around here somewhere."
"You know, you still have to come visit me. You can't just come when Tess needs to be dropped off." He scolds.
"Yeah I know" I nod.
We sit down chatting a bit about how it's been living with the twins, and how I'm dealing.
"We've got eight dead bodies in the dump, I'd say I did well-"
I see Haz walk in. White T-shirt and jeans covered in blood, hair a mess, he's been torturing all day.. The smell of death radiates off him, causing me to scrunch up my nose.
"Aria.." he breaths out, instantly regretting his choice of words from a second ago.
This. This is what I don't miss about this place. The violence, the death. It's unbearable at times.. but this? This isn't Haz. He's gone too far.
I start to feel the familiar pressure in my head, slowly spreading throughout my body. My vision blurs slightly, causing me to grab the arms of the chair to ground myself.
"Aria? Are you okay?" Tom asks.
"It's just.. the blood." I say.
"I-I'm sorry.." Haz says, leaving the room.
"How long has this been going on?" He asks.
"Like five days.. I don't know" I shrug.
"You need to see a doctor" he states.
"Tom I'm fine. Promise. That's was just a lot to take in." I say.
It really was. I'm not use to seeing Haz like that. Drenched in blood, happy with the torture he's done.
"Are you sure?" He asks.
"I'm positive. Everything is okay."
I spend a little longer with Tom. He had his chef bring us dinner which helped with the dizziness a bit. I missed my big brother. I formed a special bond with him over this time that just can't be replaced by the twins. Tom and I are inseparable.
"It's three weeks till Christmas.. don't tell me you're bailing on that too?" He asks.
"Course not. My first Christmas in five years will be amazing." I say.
"You're making me sad" he frowns. "You seriously didn't have Christmas for five years?"
"No family to celebrate with so there was no point" I shrug.
"Aww Aria" he squeezes me and I laugh. "Now you've got me. Your favorite. Right?.."
"Yeah. Totally." I say sarcastically.
"Well who's you're favorite?" He asks.
"You don't want to know" I laugh.
"How is it not me?! Who?" He asks.
"Sam" I answer and he gasps.
"But he's no ones favorite!" He groans.
"That's so mean!" I exclaim.
After a while, Petra comes in saying we should go, to which I agree. I'm exhausted and feel like shit. I need to get out of here, I can't get the image of Haz covered in blood of out my head.
"I'll see you soon" I say, hugging my brother.
"See you" he says.
I walk out with Petra, and see Haz, now all cleaned up walking out of the living room. His eyes lift, meeting mine and he stops in his tracks.
"Leaving?" He asks.
"Yeah" I say quietly with a nod.
"Goodnight, get home safe." He says.
"Night." I say.
It's weird not ending the night with an I love you. I miss it. So fucking much. I can't let my emotions get in the way of this though. This is my time to grow, and learn how to be on my own all over again.
