-y/n's pov- my body was in the air for a few seconds and then i crashed onto the ground. after i adjusted to the shock and realized that i was mostly okay, other than probably a twisted ankle, i stood up. yep... definitely twisted my ankle. i shrieked out in pain, falling back to the ground. i pulled out my phone and flipped on the flashlight to try and figure out where i was. after looking around it appears i had fallen into an old mine shaft. it wasn't as cold here, since there was no wind... but my body was still numb from the cold even after falling from that high.
after a few minutes i decided to stand up again, and although i was in a lot of pain, i knew i had to find a way out of here. i started walking, or should i say limping, my way forward looking for any way out. i walked for what i'm assuming was like ten minutes, but at this point i've lost all track of time, and i suddenly felt a breeze. i got so excited because a breeze down here meant a way out. i followed the breeze and found a hole to crawl out of the shaft. when i emerged out of it i found myself in a forest, unfortunately with zach nowhere to be found.
luckily my phone had enough battery to get me through the shaft, but i had no service to make any calls. i had to find zach, after all it was my fault we were lost out here. i started walking again with all the strength i had left in me, even though i was pretty sure i was going to die out here. the whole time we were out here i had a hand warmer in my pocket, it wasn't doing much against all the cold... but it was something. it had lost all it's warmth now and i guess that sent me over my breaking point.
i started crying, my tears burning as they trailed down my frozen face. this is it, this is how i'm going to leave this earth. out here all alone in the freezing cold, who knows where zach is or if he's okay. the worst part is, i think i was developing feelings for zach... like more than just a friendship. but now i'll never get to tell him, cause i'm going to die out here all alone... and it's truly my own fault.
i can't believe i'm going to die before i get to tell the man that i love, that i love him. i mean it hadn't even hit me how much i love zach until right now... i mean i've realized here lately i've looked at him differently but i hadn't given it too much thought. i'm in love with zach herron... but he'll never get to know that. i screamed at the top of my lungs and sat down beside a tree to die.
as i started to close my eyes and give up i hear a faint scream in the distance "Y/N" i heard a voice yell. after a moment i heard it again, but closer. "Y/N"... it was zach. i stood up as quickly as i could and yelled with everything left in me "ZACH I'M HERE" i started walking towards the voice but i was so weak that my body couldn't handle it anymore. i could faintly see a figure running towards me. i walked until my body gave out, i fell to the ground.
a few seconds later i felt arms lift me up and brush the hair out of my face. with the only strength left in me i whispered out "zach, i'm gonna die. i- i " i couldn't finish my sentence i was so weak. "y/n i can't believe i found you, you're going to be okay i pinky promise" i heard zach say before everything went dark again.
-tessa's pov- "y/n and zach haven't been back all day" i said to everyone that was gathered in the living room. "yeah and they won't answer any of our calls, i'm getting really worried" gabbie added "maybe we should call the resort staff and report them missing? does anyone know where they said they were going?" daniel asked squeezing my hand trying to calm me. "i think y/n was going on a hike, but then that big blizzard come up suddenly... maybe zach went with her?" jonah said. we all shared a worried look before calling the resort. they said they'd send a search and rescue team right away. i hope my bestfriends are alright.
