Delaney had a permanent look of disgust gracing her face. Her eyes were locked on the doctors as screams turned to whimpers. Maggie was laying on the table practically naked and covered with blood. She was strapped down, tears leaving streaks on her face and clearing the blood from their trails. Delaney's ears still rang with her hoarse cries they had dulled over the last fifteen minutes. Delaney knew that soon they'd be gone altogether and Maggie would just be another body to lay in the corner.
"Let go of me!" A loud voice rang down the hall as the metal doors opened. Every head in the room, including Delaney's, turned to see the guards bring in two more.
Delaney's gaze of disgust hardened into one of hatred as a guard threw Raven onto the ground. She pulled against her bonds as Raven coughed blood onto the dirtied tile floor. The man she was with had tired eyes as he eyed everyone else tied up in the room.
"Just tie them up near the others. I'm almost done with this one." The doctor waved the guards away after they chained Raven and her friend to the cages.
"Yu gonplei ste odon." Delaney murmured as Maggie's chest stopped rising. A final tear trickled down her cheek. Delaney couldn't watch as they dumped her body into a pile. Maggie was the fourth.
"That one." The woman in the lab coat pointed to the boy next to Delaney. He was younger than her, only fourteen. Delaney struggled, kicking out against the guard.
"Leave him be!" She grunted out, trying to block the guard. He sneered, pointing the taser into Delaney's side. She writhed as they unchanged Lewis, strapping him onto the bed.
"Please!" Lewis pleaded, crying out. He was shaking. He was so scared. "We're just kids. We're all just kids."
The doctor pulled the trigger on the drill, only making him jump. His breathing sharply increased. Lewis was freaking out. He had no one. No family left alive and very few friends left from the Ark.
"Lewis, look at me," Delaney called softly. She repeated herself until he shifted his head. The drill sounded again and he flinched. "Lewis, deep breaths. Just remember who you are. What you've fought for. Bellamy's coming, okay? Just keep fighting."
His screams cut Delaney off as the drill dug into his hip. When he opened his eyes tears fell, but he still looked at Delaney. She held his gaze until he lost consciousness minutes later.
"On their knees!" Cage Wallace's voice cut through Lewis' whimpers as he walked through the giant metal doors. It had been at least five minutes if not more since they replaced Maggie with Lewis. Behind Cage were soldiers dragging four more members of the Ark. What was taking Bellamy so long?
After Cage spoke with the doctors the guards started pulling off the hoods of the captured. Monroe was first, and then someone Delaney didn't recognize. Miller did, his eyes widening. Delaney followed suit as Marcus and Abbey were revealed next. Marcus and Delaney locked eyes. He shifted where he knelt, ready to get up and start fighting. Delaney shook her head, her gaze following the several soldiers in the room.
"There's an open spot here." A guard called after they started lining the new prisoners up on the wall. Cage pulled Marcus to his feet, pushing him toward Delaney. She swallowed hard, her hard gaze set on Cage. He and the guard started chaining up Marcus as the doctor announced Lewis was next.
"That one on the end." She pointed down toward the door. Everyone looked, spotting Raven. The man she was brought in with instantly started protesting, volunteering to go instead.
Delaney's heart started racing as she saw them tase Raven. Her eyes trailed to the brace on her let and the blood and bruises already covering her arms and face. She was already in so much pain. Delaney couldn't bear to see her friend in anymore, let alone dead. They started unchaining Raven. Delaney closed her eyes. Bekka help me. She opened them, spitting in Cage's face.
