__________

After Hizashi left, my dad and I got ready to go on a patrol.

My hero costume is essentially the same as my dads. It's a skin tight black body suit, with a hood and a grey utility belt. Sure the suit shows off my curves and the slightest bit of cleavage, but it's also really easy to move in. Plus it's fire proof and water proof, indestructible to almost every physical attack like bullets and stuff.

Unfortunately, not much material is indestructible to knives, so it's not stab proof. But I'm pretty good at dodging those attacks. I don't have a big knife attached to the back of my belt like my dad does, instead I have a four foot long metal staff. It's not that thick, around the same thickness as a sink pipe, but it gets the job done.

I slipped the cool spandex of my suit onto my body and my utility belt around my waist, attaching my staff to the back of it. Then I put on my black combat boots and slipped a small dagger into the side of my right one, just to be safe. I left my hood down for now, since I'm still inside the house, and tied my hair into a low bun. Then headed downstairs.

I met my dad in the kitchen and he gave me a tired smile. He was wearing his baggy hero costume and grey utility belt. His long grey capture weapon was around his neck, and his bright yellow goggles sat on top of his head. His forever messy hair framed his face, and the bags under his eyes were as prominent as ever.

I smiled back at him, "You ready to go?"

He nodded, "Yeah, how's the outfit? It's not too tight or anything is it?"

I shook my head, "Nah it's great! It's the perfect fit and I'm glad that it looks a lot like yours."

He smiled again, "Well that's good to hear, we should get going yeah?"

"Yeah let's go."

The cool night air made me shiver a bit and I pulled my hood down lower to cover my face. My dad and I were running and jumping across rooftops, looking down at the streets and alleys below for any villainous activity. There wasn't really anything of interest happening, just a few people walking home from a late shift, or some going in and out of the 24-hour convenience store.

I sighed, 'Aren't there any villains out tonight?'

Of course, having no villains meant that everyone was safe. But it's just so, boring. I want something to happen, I wanna go beat the crap out of some nasty villain. I haven't been training with my dad, getting pretty much no sleep, and working my ass off for nothing.

As if the universe heard me, there was a shout from a nearby alley. We jumped over a rooftop and glanced down into the thin gap between the tall buildings.

There was a woman, cowering against the wall with a very large, something, in front of her. I could hear her whimpering and pressing herself against the wall as close as she could.

"P-please, stay a-away from m-me!" She covered her face with her hands.

The thing in front of her let out a low chuckle, "Now why would I do that? Give me what I want, and this won't get violent."
