I close the door to Mandy's economical car after I made my way out.
"Damn Girly, I was sure you were going to have one of the hotnesses take you home. Well, it was fun to see you out of your shell for once." She follows with her wink.
"Yeah, this is a must do for a later time. See you tomorrow." I say doing really well to hide how drunk I really was. And the fact that everything had gone exactly as I planned. No need letting Mandy know all of my secrets.
She waits for me to open the door before driving off. Gotta love real friends, but I was anxious for her to leave so that I could get the better part of my evening started.
Hanging my purse on the key rack and kicking my shoes off, I check on Mikey. Sound asleep. Good. I make my way to the kitchen to make sure he still has plenty of food and water. Check. I pour my water in the coffee pot reservoir, no need in forgetting the essentials.
I make my way to my room. Opening the door, looking into the empty made up bed. Soon it wouldn't be. Soon there would be.
"What's this about Bunny?" Andre's smooth voice creeps from the corner and scares me half to death. If he couldn't tell, me jumping should have given it away.
"Don't do that!" I try to catch my breath.
"Don't do what?" he returns with a cold tone.
"Scare me like that." He is in a dead stare with me, while propping up in the corner wearing a smoke grey suit with a silk white shirt underneath.
"So, what's this about Bunny?"
"What are you talking about Andre?"
"I don't want to play games Bunny," He starts to walk away. I reach for his arm and pull him back.
"Andre don't go!" desperation both in my voice and grip.
"Then talk." I wasn't used to this Andre. Short, cut off, to the point.
"You read the text?" He snatches his arm away from me.
"You just asked me to come over. You needed something important. I've been waiting here for about thirty minutes and I have no clue what you want."
"What do you think I want Andre?" I place my hand on my hips and stare him down.
"To taunt me more."
"Queen's ass you're annoying. Why can't you just..."
"What? forget you insulted me? Forget that you called me the lowest kind of beast and murderer?" He starts a walk towards me. "Even though I told you I was innocent of the crimes you accused me of, you told me the worst thing you could tell me. You told me you didn't want to see me anymore."
"That was then." A lump forms in my throat as the guild returns.
"What do you want?" Annoyance building in his tone.
"Sit down and I'll tell you."
"Goodbye Bunny," He turns to walk away again. Grabbing him is harder this time, he is moving faster than I can track. I reach for him again, and I hear my room door close. How is it that he can move that fast? The door is nearly thirty feet away. I run out of my room and see him about to close the front door.
"Andre come back!" My screams wake Mikey and he peers his head at me, then looks towards the door. With a half bark he dashes through the dog door and I'm quick to follow him.
I yank the door with far more strength than I need to and try to remember not to overdo it, but the alcohol and my body don't agree and I slip into a fall. I place my hands up to prepare for a landing but I feel myself wrapped in Andre's arms. How? He was at his door.
