Frisk and I slowly stepped out of the large, hallway-like room and into the next. No sooner than we did, Toriel called Frisk. "You have not left the room have you? I was just calling to make sure." Frisk looked guilty as they hung up and walked over to a glowing yellow "Save Point" and touched it. A text box appeared over it. I wasn't interested enough to read it, so after they saved, we continued forward. The next room was full of Froggits. There were three, but Frisk only spoke to one. "Ribbit" (Hello there, I have heard you are quite merciful for a human. You can always spare monsters when their name is yellow. Though someday, you may have to spare a monster whose name isn't yellow.) I thought about this for a moment before we moved on. We passed through many more puzzles and encountered monsters that Frisk would spare or I would wave off. We even ran into a spider bake-sale. There were two cobwebs and Frisk threw 7g into the first web. Some spiders crawled down and gave them a donut, which they took without hesitation. We came across Napstablook and cheered him up. Toriel had called a few more times, asking whether they preferred cinnamon or butterscotch, if they had any allergies, and other things along the lines of that. After wandering around for a few more minutes, we came to a room with a large, black tree without leaves. I saw Toriel, but she couldn't see us yet. She walked a few steps forward before stopping and taking out her phone. Frisk's phone rang and Toriel ran over to us. "My child, are you okay? Are you hurt?" Frisk shook their head. "Thank goodness. Did you make it all the way here on your own?" Frisk shook their head again and pointed at me. Toriel bent down and patted my head. "Thank you my friend. Here, both of you, come with me." We both followed her to a small house. Frisk saved again before going into the house and I trailed behind them. "Surprise! I made a cinnamon-butterscotch pie! Since you just got here, I thought that I'd hold off on the snail pie for now." She sniffed the air. "Is something burning?" She thought for a moment before remembering. "Oh! I left it in the oven! Just a moment!" She rushed over to the kitchen. "Make yourselves at home!" I jumped up onto the couch and laid down while Frisk explored the house. Toriel came back with two slices of pie, set one down in front of me, and called Frisk. They came running over and plopped down on the couch. I began eating my slice after it cooled and finished it in just a few minutes. Frisk decided that they would save it for later. Toriel guided Frisk to a spare room and told them that it was theirs. I had started to fall asleep when Toriel came back and sat next to me as Frisk wandered around their new room. "May I ask you to promise something?" I sighed. "Tori, you know I don't like making promises." She looked to the side. "I know, but this is important." I sat up and looked up at her, my tail flicking up and down. "Ok, go ahead." She looked back at me. "I know they'll want to leave soon. The Ruins are a very small place once you get used to them. So when they want to leave, can you promise to watch over them?" I paused to pretend to think about it for a moment, but I already knew what I would say.
