✨The Beauty After Midnight✨
Blinded by Colour
(Colorism)

I thought we were Kin,
I thought we were one blood,
But it seems to me that you are blinded
By the colour of your skin.

What makes us different?
Is it because you are a few shades lighter than the others?
That does not change the fact,
That we are all sisters and brothers.

We were all once beaten and raped,
Our forefathers who fought were hung on trees like drapes.
Now here you are, as though life is a zoo amd you are the visitor
And I am the ape behind the cage.

I hope that one day, you will see
That there is no difference between you and me.
