Jiang Yanli sighed quietly to herself as she made her way to her little brother's rooms.

The servants had explained to her that her brother had been throwing a fit all afternoon. Yanli knew that her brother wasn't going to take the news well after they had received a letter from their father earlier that day. He had explained that he had saved a homeless boy while he was away and that the boy would be staying with them from now on. Their father had also mentioned for the Jiang servants to get rid of Jiang Cheng's dogs as the homeless boy had been attacked and suffered injuries from dogs. Yanli had felt bad for the poor thing when she read that but her brother on the other hand....Yanli winced when she neared her brother's room.

She could hear Jiang Cheng screaming inside as he threw things across his room.

"Why!? Why did I have to send my puppies away? Why?!" He yelled loudly. Jiang Yanli stepped into the room and knocked on the wall to get her little brother's attention. At the noise, Jiang Cheng whirled around wildly to face her.

"A-Cheng, what are you doing?" she asked looking around. Everything in the room had been destroyed and thrown around. Jiang Cheng only growled out angrily.

"Why do I have to give up my puppies for some brat I don't even know?" He asked, crossing his arms. Jiang Yanli gave him a look as she moved closer to him.

"A-Cheng, you and I both read the letter, you know why. The boy that a-die is bringing home was attacked by some dogs, it isn't wise to keep dogs in Lotus pier if he's to stay with us," she tried to explain gently.

"But mine aren't bad and they won't attack anyone!"

"I know A-Cheng but-"

"No A-Jie! They're mine!" Jiang Cheng cut her off.

Yanli sighed deeply. Sometimes it was hard reasoning with her brother when he was like this. He was still so young but he already had such a bad temper, a trait he acquired from their mother. And because of his temper, Jiang Cheng found it hard to make friends with the other children of the clan. He was hard to get along with sometimes and Yanli thought that this was the reason that he played with his puppies so often. He must be lonely.

Jiang Yanli gently placed her hand on top of her brother's head. The action seemed to have calmed him a little as he took a really deep breath and seemed to lean into his sister's touch. "When the boy arrives you'll have to be on your best behavior, ok A-Cheng? We can't scare him away," Yanli said. At the mention of the kid that their father was bringing home, Jiang Cheng's glare returned.

"Why can't he just stay on the streets and away from here..." the boy muttered darkly. Yanli looked down and gave him a stern look.

"A-Cheng, that was not nice. This boy has been through a lot. We don't want to upset him when a-die is offering him a home," she said. Jiang Cheng only huffed and looked away. Again, Jiang Yanli sighed. They would have a long way to go.

The next day, Jiang Fengmian arrived back in Lotus pier. Jiang Yanli and Jiang Cheng were there waiting for him and Wei Ying to arrive.

On their journey back to Yunmeng, Wei Ying had been out of it for most of the short trip. Ever since the attack, the boy had been hyper-aware of his right arm, the one that had seemingly lost any sort of feeling in it. It shocked the boy all the way to his not yet developed golden core. He just couldn't believe it. Questions were also constantly running through his little mind. Like, would his arm ever recover? Will he ever feel anything in his arm ever again. Will....will he ever be normal again?
