"What are you thinking about?" Jiang Cheng asked his brother as they walked back to the guest disciples quarters.

The two were returning from spending another day with Nie Huaisang. These past few days, Lan Qiren had been called away to attend some cultivation meeting so most classes were postponed until after he got back. Wei Wuxian looked lost in thought the whole way back to their rooms. Said boy looked up at his brother.

"Hm? Oh it's nothing Jiang Cheng," he said. Jiang Cheng had to raise his eyebrows at that.

"Are you sure? Ever since your punishment with Lan Wangji, it seems like that's all you've been thinking about."

Beside him, his brother gave him a look.

"Please Jiang Cheng. I'm only thinking about how cruel and awful the whole week was. It was so bad, I think I'm a changed man."

"You're a fucking liar is what you are," Jiang Cheng responded, rolling his eyes. Wei Wuxian gasped dramatically beside him.

"How can you think so lowly of me Jiang Cheng?" he asked.

"Because you're my brother and I know you better than anyone else?" Jiang Cheng said. Wei Wuxian gaped at him and then turned away.

"Whatever! I'm going to see my shijie. She won't treat me as bad as you!"

"You!"

Wei Wuxian skipped away from him and towards his sister's room. It was midday so she had to be in her room. When he got up to the door, he knocked on it quite loudly.

"Shijie, shijie!" he called out to her. Unexpectedly though, it was not his senior sister who had opened the door, instead it was Wen Qing. He looked at her curiously as Jiang Cheng came up behind him.

"Miss Wen," he bowed politely to her. The young woman returned the gesture.

"Young master Jiang," she said.

"Miss Wen, why are you here?" Jiang Cheng asked curiously. Wei Wuxian also gave her a questioning look.

Wen Qing was about to speak when a familiar voice responded from within.

"A-Cheng, A-Xian, you're here," Jiang Yanli said.

"Yes, we're here."

Wei Wuxian then scooted past Wen Qing and went inside the room. When he saw his sister lying down on her bed, Wei Wuxian immediately rushed over, worried. He sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Shijie, what happened?" he asked her. Jiang Yanli gave him a smile as she gently sat up.

"It's been rainy these past few days. I felt dizzy when I took a walk by the river bank this morning. I was lucky enough to have met Miss Wen as she was passing by. She brought me back and gave me some medication. I feel much better now," she told her brothers.

"Jie, why didn't you tell us that you were feeling unwell?" Jiang Cheng asked from where he was standing from beside her bed. Wei Wuxian nodded.

"That's right, shijie. If we had known that, we would have stayed with you all morning instead of going out to play," he said. Jiang Yanli shook her head fondly at him.

"Hm, I think it's best if my A-Xian went out and played. He needs to get his energy out so he doesn't go cause any trouble," she told him, booping him on the nose. Wei Wuxian pouted at his sister's words.

Jiang Cheng smiled at his two siblings before turning to Wen Qing who was gathering her supplies on a nearby table.

"Miss Wen, thank you for treating my sister," he said. Wen Qing dipped her head to him.
