'Gideon?' I asked for the identity of the one who called me.
'Pacifica! It is you!' Gideon rushes further down to meet me while I stood a knee-length in water.
'Yeah! What's up? Why are you here? And with..... your friends too?' I looked behind him to see a bunch of mopey looking friends of Gideon's.

'We were looking for you,  I guess you were here all along then.' Gideon shrugged

I nodded and gave an agreeing sound to Gideon, hoping that he wouldn't interrogate the poor guy behind me. I knew from the way that Gideon carried himself, that my wishes were not about to come true.

Instead of asking about the person stood behind me, Gideon asked: 'What are you doing here? In the water and all.'

'W-what?' I stammered, but I had to play it cool. I looked behind me and saw Dipper giving no effort to stay hidden. 'Oh, I was just talking to someone.'

'Who?' Gideon beckoned his friends over to us, making a small semi-circle around me. Then peered behind me as id Dipper standing behind me was not apparent enough. Was this a joke or not?

'Can't you see?' I swatted a hand backwards to show them where Dipper stood, but they saw 'nothing'.

'Odd.'

'Are you going crazy Paz? Is the family problem getting to your head?'

'What?' I took a step back, taken aback with anger and confusion from Gideon's insenitive comment.

'I'm only kidding. Are you okay? Where is that 'person' you were talking to?'

'Umm, he's literally behind me. Is this some sort or prank or joke? It's not funny.'

'I'd tell you if it was one, I promise. For now, I see no one except you.'

I spun around quickly, in agreement with Gideon's words, nobody was behind me.

'Huh?'

'It's suddenly become a bit cold, don't you think?' Gideon said to his friends, as they tugged the openings of their jackets closer to themselves.

There I saw, Dipper standing behind them, but how did he? What?

He waved a hand at me, wiggling his fingers and giving a cheeky smile.

'Behind you!' I shouted, pointing where Dipper stood.

As if staring through nothing, the huddle responded. 'There's nothing Pacifica.'

I facepalmed myself.

'Are you guys blind?' I pointed again, I was getting seriously worried and concerned. Are Gideon and his friends alright?

'No Pacifica. Are you alright?' Gideon reached out to take my arm, trying to steady me or something.

Was I going nuts? A few days in a small town making someone go crazy? Now that, was definitely insane.

Suddenly, a gigantic swirl of wind picked up all the sand and was headed towards me. I shielded my eyes with my hand and looked away. The others did the same, Gideon probably wanted to take me back to the Mystery Shack, claiming I was deranged or demented. Only I knew I wasn't.

When it all ended, I brushed off the sand on my clothes and looked around. There was nobody except me, Gideon and his friends. I noticed there was no trace of crumbs floating the water as it did before, no cupcake wrappers on the dock and not even footprints in the sand coming out of the water.

It was like no one was here before, how it was when I first came. Untouched nature.

Did I dream about it?

Even my clothes were dry, they were lighter, flowier than when I left the water. I scrunched the edge of my shirt, it was. completely dry.

Was I truly a lunatic for thinking I met someone I may not have?

I glanced around one last time, looking for anything that might prove I was here, with someone else.

I guess it never happened then.
