"So you want me to train you?"

I look up at the Hokage and nod.

"Yes, sir."

He blows out a puff of smoke from his pipe and nods as he stands up from his desk.

"The curse mark. Kakashi had sealed it, yes? I believe the training I'm going to put you through will be simple enough so that the mark isn't affected," he says mostly to himself.

"Lord Hokag-"

He gives a smile and stops me.

"I'm training you now. Call me Sarutobi-sensei."

"Sarutobi-sensei... I believe Orochimaru is planning something bigger and I want you to know that I will do whatever I can to make sure this village is safe as well as the other visiting villagers. I want to become strong enough to even potentially beat him and I know you're the only one who can help me achieve that. You did train him after all."

His smile turns into a large smirk as he sits back in his seat.

"I had a feeling you would say something like that. That's why I was quite surprised you came to me first. I was going to ask you if I could train you. The Hidden Leaf Village needs more fighters. The proctor you saw at the preliminary exams, Hayate Gekko, was murdered. He was suspected of being killed by that one sound village kid, Kabuto. It is quite easy to believe that Orochimaru is up to something and we need to be prepared for it. So the jutsu I will be showing you is very dangerous and take up a lot of chakra. Be prepared because we will start this afternoon. Now go enjoy your day."

I bow out of respect and thank him before running out.

Walking through an alley, I spot Sakura and wave to her happily and notice the flower shop near her. Dang it, I forgot to get Sasuke and Lee flowers. I catch up to her, wrapping my arm around her shoulder. She blushes a bit.

"Hey, Sakura, we should both get flowers for Lee and Sasuke."

"Oh, yeah... That's actually what I was planning on doing. Are you feeling better?" she asks as we walk into the flower shop.

"Yup! Feel like I can fight a hundred sharks right now!"

Sakura and I browse through the flowers to find the perfect ones.

"It's sad when a girl has to buy flowers for herself," I hear Ino speak.

Just ignore them and walk away, (Y/N). I heard Hinata is already out along with everybody else who lost. Well, I guess that leaves only Sasuke and Lee. I grab a couple of red camellia for Sasuke and some white jasmines for Lee. I pay Ino for the flowers, confused to why they both have a single flower. The both of them stop when they hear familiar voices.

"Waiter! More!"

The three of us walk up to the window to check up them.

"What the heck are you guys doing? Shikamaru, shouldn't you be training for the final exam instead of sitting, pigging out?" Ino interrupts them.

"I've been training everyday, all day. Asuma's a god damn slave driver."

Asuma gives a big laugh.

"And it's not only Shikamaru. Choji's joined us for training as well."

Shikamaru groans and sits back in his seat with his eyes closed.

"Awe, man. I wish I never signed up for this stupid final exam," he complains. Asuma looks at him angrily.
