Chapter Fourteen: Dosu: The Sound Village Mummy

"Listen, guys. The terrain is different but the rule is that there are no rules. The matches will continue until one or the other dies, or acknowledges defeat. However, if I see that if an opponent can no longer go on, I'll stop the match there. Arguments will not be allowed. Understood?"

Everyone looks at Genma but doesn't speak.

"So the first match is... Naruto Uzumaki. Neji Hyuga. Just those two remain and the rest of you go to the waiting room," Genma finishes.

I put a hand on Naruto's shoulder.

"Good luck, Naruto. Remember what I said."

He gives me one of his big grins.

"I got this!"

We all make our way to the waiting area as I scan all around the arena. I stand next to Shikamaru, leaning close to him and making him tense up.

"Shikamaru..."

"Um...Y-Yes?"

"I don't have a good feeling about all of this. I need you to look out for anything suspicious. I think someone might be after the Hokage. There's ANBU hiding out in the stands," I warn him. He becomes less tense and looks around.

"Crap, you're right. Why today? What a drag..."

Naruto seems to be doing well. Of course he is, he's Naruto. Somehow he always finds a way to teach people wrong. Neji hits one of the many clones' chakra points, not noticing that two of the clones are standing behind him. Naruto goes to hit him but Neji gathers his chakra and kicks Naruto away. Naruto repeats his actions and so did Neji. Neji finally has an advantage over Naruto and strikes Naruto in all of his chakra points.

"Man, I really thought he was gonna win," I hear Shikamaru mumble. I glare at him.

"Of course he's going to win! It's Naruto. Do you really think he's going to give up?"

I look down at Naruto, smiling when I see him get back up. Everyone is a bit confused when we see Neji speaking to Naruto. I thought this was supposed to be a fight, not story time.

All of the sudden, Neji runs up to Naruto and hits him in the stomach, knocking him back into the ground. Of course, Naruto gets back up and insults Neji to make him more angry. He gets in his fighting stance and puts his fingers up. So he's using the fox's chakra, huh?

"What the hell is that?" Shikamaru questions, grabbing onto the rail.

"Naruto about to kick Neji's ass."

The chakra swirls around the arena and blows debris in Neji's face. Naruto finally controls it to surround his body then quickly goes to attack Neji from behind. Naruto's speed makes it harder for Neji to keep up so Naruto makes his final move which no one could see through all of the dust it makes. Two holes are seen in the ground, one in which Neji gets out of. I smirk when I realize what Naruto is doing as Neji wobbles around. Just like I expected, Naruto comes out of the ground and uppercuts Neji into the air.

"The winner is Naruto Uzumaki."

I clap immediately and cheer for Naruto.

"Wow, he actually did it. I can't believe it. I thought Naruto was the same as me. One of the dorky, uncool guys. I've never felt so depressed. What a drag..." Shikamaru says in shock.

"Oh, come on, Shikamaru. You all have your own unique trauts when it comes to fighting. Naruto has a little...uh, cheat. If you work hard and take your training seriously then you can all be on the same level," I encourage him.

"Yeah, he just had a little cheat of his own."

That was all he got out of that?

"(Y/N)!" I hear someone yell behind me.
